In which Stefan has been heart broken way too many times by Elena and starts noticing her neighbor

-2AM WAFFLES -
Mystic falls. A home to many things. On the surface friendly faces and cute little shops. But deeper there were undead beings who survived on the crimson liquid that flowed through human bodies.
Men and women slaves to the sun. Everyday people born with curses that made them turn to beast in the night. Beast with no control.
Very few humans stayed in mystic falls. Amongst these humans was Zaria Bennett. A woman robbed of her birth right and given a simpler life. A non supernatural life.
- to the story-
There Stefan stood on the porch of the Gilbert home. His heart once again shattered by the young Gilbert girl. 'Maybe giving up is best. She loves damon' Stefan thought to himself.
His forest green eyes focused on something other than the floor. He heard a groan, he looked up and over to seen a woman. She had glitter running down her cheeks with her hair rather tangled.
He had never seen her before. The girl looked over and made eye contact. She offered him a lazy smile. He raised an eyebrow, "why are you outside at 2am" he asked her. "Why are you standing on my neighbors porch at 2 am" she replied.
He muttered a 'fair', she walked over and stood in front of him with waffles. He took the waffles. On the side were small little cups filled with bananas, strawberries and blue berries. "I have whip cream too" she said holding up a can.
Stefan started to eat the waffles from the mystery girl. She watched him "why are you giving this to me" he asked her. " You looked sad. I was going to give them to Jeremy" she stated.
"Why would Jeremy want waffles at 2 am" he asked. "Every Thursday at 2 am I make breakfast" she told him. Stefan was now intrigued "continue" he said.
"Why should I tell a stranger this" she said. He chuckled "just tell me" he said. "I rather not. Your in love with her aren't you" she asked. "Yes. But she loves my brother" he whispered. "Your a fucking idiot."
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Excuse me" he asked. "Never love someone who doesn't love you back. Only fools do that. Some things just aren't worth the heart breaking wait" She began to walk away "what's your name" he called. "None of your business" And then she was gone.
- time skip-
Stefan talked with Elena and Bonnie before she suddenly groaned. Stefan's eyebrows furrowed. "My neighbor Lara and her friend Malia " Elena said. "Well hello Gilbert.Bennett. New guy" Lara smirked.
"Oh no no no. Take your ass to class "Malia rolled her eyes pushing her friend further into the hall.Malia then turned around to talk to Bonnie. "Zaria is looking for you. Hi I'm Malia" she stuck her hand out.
"Stefan Salvatore." he shook her hand. She thought for a second "Salvatore? Tch" she walked off leaving the trio confused. Malia caught up to Zaria and Lara. "Hey Ari!" The cheery blonde said. "Mali" the girl said.
Stefan watched as the girls disappeared.
{ Time skip}
Mystic grill. Zaria's favorite place to pick up waffles and her chocolate milkshake. "Hey Zaria!" Matt and Jeremy greeted. The brunette sat down "hi boys. Usual" she said. Matt nodded and walked away.
"How sober are you" she quirked an eyebrow up at him. Jermey raised his eyebrows and had his mouth open. "I'm completely sober!" He said. She put her hand on his chin. "Jeremy.." she paused.
"I'm not gonna force you. I just want you to be safe okay. A lot of people take advantage of intoxicated people." She told him with pure concern in her eyes. This pulled at Jeremy's heart strings.
He never wanted Zaria to know. One day she was waiting for him with a plate of waffles and he came in after she found drugs under his pillow.
~Flashback~
Zaria scrolled through her phone waiting on Jeremy. She felt something hard under her. She reached under the pillow and pulled out a little box. Inside were pills and weed.
Her heart dropped, Jeremy came in. She turned around with tears in her eyes. "I'm fine Zaria! I'll never lie to you Zaria! Z I swear!" She repeated his previous words.
She threw the box at him "you lied to me." Her voice wavered. He chuckled "it's not like you can talk". "I can talk because I want to help you! I went through the SAME thing" she said.
"I didn't want you to be like Elena" he shouted. She flinched and stepped back. "I don't appreciate you assuming. I wouldn't smother you..just make sure your safe".
Tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She stormed out.
< end of flashback>
In time she did forgive him. "I didn't take anything today. Z I swear" he looked at her in the eyes. He was being honest. The look on her face when he first lied broke him.
She kissed his forehead as Matt came back with her food. "Thanks Matty B" she said as she pulled 20 bucks from her pocket. She handed 10 to Matt 10 to Jeremy. "Later losers!" She said.
