Part 20 Towards Delhi
Arnav was searching Laalan's phone's incoming calls, especially the previous day and the same days of the accident. There were only a few numbers with names on the phone. Others were unnamed numbers. There was no familiar name for Arnav on the mobile. He started calling the numbers one by one slightly changing his voice. But, he could not make calls after three calls as the balance got over. Arnav rolled his eyes. How could he be so senseless? He should have called Aman first and asked him to recharge the number... now he could know nothing, without knowing the phone number...until he goes to Delhi.
The next three days were not moving for Arnav because he is fit now. So, he was sitting with Shashi or Garima to pass his time as Khushi was keeping his distance from him. Arnav didn't take it seriously. Being a respectful daughter, she would be like that. Nothing to be upset with that. Arnav understood her situation. After all, she is going to be with her parent for only three days. She didn't spend time with him doesn't mean she didn't spare a glance or didn't smile at him. Arnav relished that different phrase too. Of course, he started relishing every single moment with Khushi. He himself wondered about it. He never thought he would be so fond of a girl who is so simple. Would he even have looked at her if she had gotten a job in AR? Maybe no... or maybe yes... who knows, he would have been attracted to her straightforwardness and simplicity because she is destined for him.
After two days
Khushi frowned, seeing a lorry entering into their lane with a load of saplings. Shashi smiled, seeing that.
*What's this Babuji? *
*A Big shot promised me to plant one lakh saplings in our village...*
Cutting him,
*One lakh? * she asked shockingly.
*Yes, this is the first load...*
Arnav came out and stood. Shashi smiled at him. The workers started unloading the lorry. Shashi was so much satisfied as those are worthy tree saplings. Khushi left the place, seeing Arnav.
*Thank you so much, Arnav* Shashi thanked him heartedly.
*I'm glad that my money is getting used in a useful way* Arnav said.
*All are worthy saplings... you didn't do it for the promise you made but wholeheartedly... I can see that* Shashi said.
*that's ok, uncle. I'm thinking to continue this in Delhi too...*
*I'm so proud of you Arnav* Shashi hugged him happily.
*I too, uncle*
*By the way, how did you make it possible, sitting in the Nainital?* Shashi said with a smile.
*I wrote a letter to Aman... he is the one who made it possible*
*That's great*
*The remaining saplings will be sent one by one... I will send you money for the expense to plant these trees*
*Thank you so much, Arnav*
*My pleasure uncle*
Arnav saw satisfaction on Shashi's face.
The next day
Khushi packed her stuff and got her bags ready. They have to be at the bus stop at 9'o clock. This is the first long trip for Khushi. She hasn't crossed Nainital yet. She is going to do that with Arnav. Khushi hugged Garima emotionally.
They were waiting for NK. NK came there with his bag. He handed something to Arnav.
Arnav gave it to Shashi.
