I squealed and grabbed a super-soaker, pulling the trigger and spraying water all over Loki. He yelled and blindly threw a bucket of water, splashing both Lotte and Sophie simultaneously. Water balloons flew and shouts and screams rocketed through the air, ice-cold water dousing everyone. Rebecca was huddled underneath a flaming umbrella, trying desperately not to get wet. She failed repeatedly, Shaade sending shadows underneath the material holding water pistols. We were all at my local park having a water fight on the sunniest day of the year so far.
"This is freezing!" Shaade gasped as I poured a bucket of ice water down the back of his neck. "Unfair!"
"Don't be a coward," Loki laughed, shaking water out of his hair like a dog. Lotte threw a water balloon at him and he yelped, drenched once more. Sophie ducked a burst of water aimed in her direction and ran over.
"Has Shaade given up?" she asked. "I think Becky might kill you if you have, Shaade."
"Why?" Shaade asked, wringing out the bottom of his black T-Shirt.
"She hates getting wet," Lotte shouted, throwing Sophie and I a water pistol each. We spun around and shot Loki in unison. The god of mischeif moaned and hid behind a tree.
"Leave me alone!" he called, poking his head out. Big mistake. Shaade used shadows to flick what looked like a river full of water directly in Loki's face. Loki choked and slid down the tree, water dripping off his head and nose and pooling on the ground. He spat out a mouthful of the liquid and growled, rugby tackling Shaade to the ground and bursting a water balloon over his eyes. Shaade laughed and rolled away, shaking his head.
Rebecca appeared from underneath her now-smoking umbrella and sat on the bench. I made my way over to her and grinned.
"Scared of getting wet, are we?" I teased. She scowled at me and shuffled further away.
"I'm like a cat," she muttered. "Water and I don't get on. Especially cold water."
"What about rain?"
"This is why I hate England."
"Oh."

We walked home, laughing and slowly drying out in the sun. Shaade had managed to fall into a ditch and was not only covered in water but mud too, rotten leaves sticking to his T-Shirt like a second - well, third - skin. Noticing the state he was in he'd shrieked and promptly ripped his T-Shirt off, shadows covering his bare chest and forming a jacket 'so he wouldn't freeze'.
"What are your parents going to say?" Sophie asked. "We're just going to soak everything."
"You lot can stay outside then," I joked. "I'll go in and dry off whilst you use the sun."
"No way!" Shaade expelled. "Shadows reflect sunlight so I'm still cold."
"It's your fault for taking off your shirt," Loki replied. "Some of us can deal with being a little wet."
"Innuendo!" Lotte shouted, laughing. Loki rolled his eyes and I sighed.
"Behave," I scolded. "Or I will lock you all out."
"Oh look," a voice sneered. "It's Georgy Porgy." I froze and my fists clenched. That's the bad thing about going to a different school from everyone in your primary school. They don't see you again and hence, old rivalries still stand.
"What did you call her?" Loki hissed, whirling around. Shaade stayed perfectly still but I could see the fury in his eyes. Whenever he moved the shadows would flicker and fade, showing quite clearly that his 'jacket' was made of something other than leather.
