Meeting the Asset

Y/n has been an agent of Shield for a few years, and during those years she has been told many stories of all these people to be on the look for throughout her career. Never had she ever believed any of them. That was until one day she met The Asset, better known as the Winter Soldier, while out on a mission. (Let me know if I should make a part two)

"Most of the intelligence communities doesn’t believe he exists, the ones who do call him the Winter Soldier. He is credited with over two dozen assassinations in the last 50 years." Natasha Told Steve and I. She tends to do this a lot, telling a story of some enemy we should be watching out for on our missions, when in reality they don't exist. I don't get why she wastes her time with it.

"You do know that she is lying to you, right Steve?" I questioned him.

Natasha huffed, "No I am not. What reason would I have to do that?" I shrugged my shoulders in response to her question.

"Don't ask me, all I know is that you tell these kinds of stories all of the time, and none of them are ever true." She made a face that said you're right.

"I don't know y/n, I kind of want to hear more about this story that Nat is telling." She flashed me with her signature smirk, which felt like it sent flames out the top of my head.

"Suit yourself then." And walked out without another word. God she can be really annoying sometimes.

*The next morning*

Ah Monday morning, the start of a new week. For most people that means meetings all morning, and either paper work at night, or prepping for the week's missions. I was one of the few people that got to have a later start time to all of the meetings, as much as Fury liked to be done with everything early, he realized it is still Monday. Which meant every person that passed me in the halls today, was more then likely late to their first meeting. Which would make sense considering the rushed feet, and angered faces. I swear half of them almost spilled their coffees.

When I walked into the boardroom it was louder than usual, yes there were the common groups of Steve and Rumlow talking about missions, and Nat and Clint talking about anything and everything. But there were a lot of people in the room that I hadn't seen before, in fact I kind of thought that I walked into the wrong room for a minute, that was before Fury walked in. He usually leads the meeting, so if he was there you knew you were in the right place.

Fury walked to the front of the room, and started preparing to tell about all of the missions and updates for this week. SInce it wasn't quite time for us to get started yet he let everyone continue talking for a little bit longer. I personally just took a seat, typically I don't talk to anyone right before, unless it was about something important or a small remark. Once Fury was ready to start talking, he cleared his throat as a signal, it took a few tries because it was so loud, which you could tell made him a bit frustrated. "Alright, let's get started. This week most of the missions will take place at various different Hydra bases, before anybody says anything I know they are pretty much gone, however we still need to make sure all known places aren't still active. The Strike Team will be assisting Barton in clearing out 4 bases in a state up north. It shouldn't be too hard, but be prepared for anything, and pack a bag that will last you four days."

Clint seemed to doubt how long it would take to take down the bases, but was over it in a few minutes since he trusted Fury's judgment. "Romanoff, you and Cap will be taking care of a hostage take over. Come see me after, because some of the individuals are high up in government, we need to keep this mission on a need-to-know basis. And lastly, as of right now, y/l/n. You will be taking over a Hydra base on your own, it is pretty simple. Get in, download all info onto this hard drive, blow it up, and get out. Something you've done about a thousand times." Which was very true, Shield only ever sends me on missions that are as simple as that, kind of drives me insane because I want to do something more. I mean Nat and Steve get to deal with a hostage situation for crying out loud. Whatever, it’s fine, I guess.
