Chapter 17-"Tease you because I love you"

Sofia's POV-Tryouts are TOMMOROW!--Me and Hugo aren't talking, it was an argument every tryout practice we've had!—To be honest.....I missed him!—This rivalry reminded me of when we hated each other.—I actually wasn't sure if we DID again!—I wanted to get back to normal, after the tryout race!—I missed his warm smile, I missed talking to him!—I was at the lockers when I saw him in the hall.—Hi—He kept walking—Hugo—I grabbed his hand.—He rolled his eyes, turning.—Look, can we stop this after the tryout race?—I'm SORRY, and I miss you!—I do!—I don't wanna go back to hating each other! I said, squeezing his hand.—

He looked at me.--We have! He frowned, taking his hand away, then walked passed me.--I sighed, I walked outside, by the garden, feeling my eyes start to get watery.

Never saw what was coming at me--"I...took the last slot for the tryout race!"--I didn't hear what was said-"While your here....your against each other."--What I held in the palm of my hand--"That was sweet, Sof, thank you."--Was it just in my head?--Never worked out that way!--"We have!"--Thought that you meant to stay!--

Later that day, in lunch, I sat down at my usual table, with Carrie, Vivian, Hildegard, Cleo, Zoe, and Amber.--I sighed, glancing over at Hugo's table, and I grinned, as I remembered our lunch about a month ago!--Hugo and his friends didn't really eat in the castleteria, up till last month!--They liked to eat outside, in the heat...for some reason, which was a bummer for all the girls sitting there, using there giant friend group, to try and get their attention!--But one day, they came into the castleteria to surprise us!--

Zoe gasped.--"Can I have that. PLEEESE?!" She begged, eyeing my caramel candy bar, I had been saving ALL day!--NO!--You know how long I've been waiting to eat this! I frowneed.--I'll pay you a dollar if you GIVE ME it! She bargained.--I shook my head.--Any MORE space? A familiar voice said.--I turned to see Hugo, Zandar, Gerrick, Jacob, Gabriel, and even Chris--..I scanned all of their faces, before a wide grin grew on my face.--YOUR sitting with ME! I said, grabbing Hugo's hand, then pulled him forward, as he laughed.--I glanced back at the other girls, to see them all looking at us, there jaws hanging open.--I couldn't hold back a smirk.--I just shrugged, with a grin, which I KNEW looked snobby, but I didn't care!--I felt someone touch my shoulder.--I turned, to see Hugo frowning behind me.--W-What? I blushed, glancing at the floor, meekly.--He locked his gaze with mine, Sofia, your better then that! He said, in a soft tone, nodding toward the girls.--I looked at him, and smiled.--Y-Your right. I blushed, again.--He chuckled, and gave me a kiss on my cheek.--

I still kept those words in mind.--When I felt to insult anyone.--When I got really angry.--Hugo always brought out the best in me!--I didn't realize I was staring, but he did!--He turned.--Vivian chuckled.--Maybe you should go over there and sit with him, that'll annoy him AND teach him a lesson!--NO! I frowned, then glanced at him again.--He noticed AGAIN, before I could tear my gaze away.--He rolled his eyes, and got up.--SHOOT! I thought, as he started making his way up toward us.--I can just snap a picture if that works better! He said, visibly annoyed, but there was a hint of amusement in his voice as well.--I glared at him.--No thanks!--My eyes are burning already! I said, in a cocky voice, looking at him up and down, though I didn't WANT to fight, I wanted to make up!--He didn't smirk like I thought he would.--STOP staring at me! He said, with a grimace, his tone firm.--I looked at him.--Excuse me? I frowned, getting up.--You heard me! He rolled his eyes, before walking back to his table.--I scoffed.--You know what, lets do Vivians idea!--Everyone take a guy! I said.--Ohh! Amber grinned, as she got up, along with everyone else.--We all stopped in front of them.--I sat down next to Hugo, Vivian sat down next to Jacob, Carrie sat down next to Gabriel, Hildegard sat down next to Zandar, Cleo sat down next to Chris, and Amber sat next to Gerrick.--WHAT are you people doing? Chris frowned, visibly uncomfortable as Cleo moved closer.--Nothing! I said, moving closer to Hugo.--He shot me a baffled glare.--I kissed him.--As we broke apart, I saw everyone else doing so as well.--Hugo and Chris looked at each other, Hugo looked back at me.--Wha--I gave him a kiss on his cheek, before he could say anything, resting my hand on his chest, teasingly.--He pushed me off, grabbed my hand, and pulled me out the castleteria.--

Hugo's POV-I shut the door as we reached outside.--WHAT was THAT!? I yelled, glaring at her.--.......She looked at me.--I just--W-What happened.....to you?--A month ago, you didn't care if you won or lose, you didn't CARE what we did in front of your friends, a-and....Y-YOU NEVER r-raise your v-voice at m-me!--I was...just...playing.....--I felt all the rivalry slip away, as she started crying.--I looked at her, as she sat down on the step in tears.--S-Sof...I'm--I'm..sorry. I said, sitting down next to her.--She didn't look at me.--I meant....what I said...about compettition bringing out the worst in me.....--I lifted her head up toward me--I've missed you too!--I'm...gonna...pull out! I said, wiping her face, shooting her a gentle smile.--N-NO, no, no, y-you....--y-you d-don't h-h-have t-to--She couldn't calm down--P-Pull o-o-out--I frowned--Sof--I-Its f-f-fine--Just...calm down. I said, taking her hand.--I'm......--She couldn't speak, she just turned away in tears.--I frowned.--

She was hurt, I knew that.--I wrapped my hand around her back, and gently pulled her into a hug.--She hugged me back, pulling me closer to her.--I smiled.--I didn't realize how much I really missed her.--Hugo?--We both turned to see Chris, and everyone else, towering over us, looking. PISSED.--I let go of Sofia.--WHAT are you doing?--Times have changed, you can't be dating the enemy! Chris said, furrowing his eyebrows.--...I looked at Sofia, then at the guys.--....I....uh....--Sofia glared at them, Your gonna make him CHOOSE?--Some "friends" YOU are. She rolled her eyes.--It only took a couple seconds before they all started arguing.--"I DO...Hugo."--"I LOVE you."--"You can't be dating the enemy."--
