the sunny streets of liyue harbor glazed against the glimmering blue ocean. since I no longer had any needed Morax's gnosis, he has allowed me to spend time in liuye and enjoy the cultural festival, the lantern rite "as an apology for no further notice with his plan to rid himself of the gnosis".
this was probably my "once in a lifetime" experience. I was also freed from any contract till the end of the current gnosis check term.
over the next few days I had gotten to see the set-up of the one week festival. it was truly beautiful
"excuse me? what are these lanterns called?" I asked a woman with short hair
"oh? these are xiao lanterns, quite the traditional lanterns if your looking for that" she smiled
"small lanterns...huh...." I muttered to myself
"I think I'll save my money for tonight but thanks for the offer" I said giving the woman a smile before walking off.
tonight was the beginning of the lantern rite and I was excited
I approached wangshu inn to collect my belongings I had left behind his morning when I left for liyue harbor.
I was gonna stay in an inn closer to where the festival would be held.
I tripped over an uneven board when I hear the higher voice I had ever heard in my life
"c'mon xiao come to he lantern rite with ussss! it'll be soooo worth he foo- I mean.." the high, girl like voice half yelled
xiao? like he lantern?"........" I Heard nothing
"c'mon it'l be fun like paimon said" a more mature voice nagged
"......." more silence. I was beginning to wonder if they where talking to no one given that I hadn't looked over the side of he wall yet.
"uhg oh vigilant yaksha escort thy self to thy lantern rite and to force thy emo no to be an emo" the mature male voice said in a very fake dramatic tone
wait. vigilant yaksha isn't that...
my head flew around staring at a short man rolling his eyes at a blond I recognized from a few days ago who was wearing the proudest look on his face
Alatus....
"you will be freed of contracts I have set upon you till this gnosis examination term has beed fufilled" rex lapis's voice wavered in my head
unfortunately as I was debating weather or no to confront him he had already spotted me and was now giving me a death stare
"h-hi?" I said as calmly as I could feeling my cheeks heat up at being stared at
the blond looked from me to Altus and back with the aura of a confused child. the floating thing next to him was silent bobbing up and down in the air slightly, weird she looked familiar...
I was snapped out of my toughts by a slightly raspy voice
"what the hell do you think you're doing in a place like this, are you trying to break Rex Lapis' contract? or are you just being stupid" the male said. he seemed really angry at me
"nonononononono i-its not what you think...see Rex Lapis-" I said before getting pulled by my hand, across the deck
"I will escort you to liuye at nightfall do not be late. I have some discussion to do with this woman here" he growled at the blond before pulling me into a cloud of black aura.
~...~
the next thing I saw was the shimmering blue sky and the endless plain of my adeptal realm
"you really had to bring me here, to this old place?" I said flopping my head back onto the lawn of the old shack I used to live in
"hmph, it's the only place with privacy that we get to our own ying" he scoffed
"stoppppp calling me thattt" I whined, kicking my legs in the air
"what do you wan me to call you, Asmoday??"(pernounced: ahs-mun-day)he grunted as he sat down on the porch of the house
"YES it is a MUCH better name, even though I mustn't betray the name the gods gave me" I sighed as I got up walking to the house
"you've got a weird obsession on defying who you are....wait where are you going" Alatus said eyeing me
"well unless you don't want my famous almond tofu with a fullhearty explanation then fine I'll just make you some really spicy soup and no explanation" I taunted watching his face drain of color
"I-" he started
"exactly" I said cutting him off as I headed into the old house
no one pov:
about an hour later a faint cluttering of plates could be heard from outside the house
"I swear I keep forgetting to give you the recipe" the woman sighed waving an ice cold cryo vision over the over the jello like tofu
"alright it should be ready now" she smiled setting the plate down infront of an almost drooling yaksha
"now just so you know I have been temporaraly have been released of contract so I am not slacking off I promise. and on that note I finally get to spend as much time with you as I can Alatus"
