Chapter 11

~No One's POV~

When all the passengers heard the ringing noises inside of their heads, they felt scared and confused.

However, this is a positive. Since all the passengers landed, Vance has been keeping an eye on all of them.

Vance was particularly interested in the scientist, Sannvi Bhal. When the ringing noise happened Sannvi was with Vance.

When Ben went back to the hospital he explained to Sannvi how Vance didn't believe him.

Sannvi went to speak with Vance about what was happening to Cal.

Again, Vance didn't believe Sannvi until he saw her on the floor in pain.

This lead him to believe that he should at least listen to what they had to say.

Vance called for a team to infiltrate the barn.

~Violet's POV~

When they turned on the machine again I didn't feel anything. This was weird because I used to feel sick when they did it. I thought it was because I was tethered with Alexei and Cal. Now I'm not so sure.

When the scientists noticed that I wasn't reacting to anything, they put the machine on the highest level. This made me terrified.

Why do they think they can just do these dangerous tests on us? Why did they think they could get away with it?

"Stop! You have no right to this to me or any of us!" I shouted.

"Don't worry boss I'll shut her up for you" A guard says.

"No," I scream but out of nowhere, a lightning bolt comes out of my hand and hits the guard.

I pull my hand back and look at it. Then I turn my head to look at the guard. He's on the ground. I think he's dead. I see other scientists surrounding the man.

How did I do that? How is this even possible? Is this what Brenner meant when he said that I was "absorbing energy"?

I get snapped out of my thoughts when I hear Brenner.

"Little girl, you have a very special talent." He says while coming slowly closer to me.

"Don't come any closer or I'll do it again!"

After I say that he stops immediately.

"Alright. I'll stay right here." Brenner says quietly.

"Good" I reply

"I just want you to know that I can help you control your powers."

"No! You're just going to hurt me"

"How do you know that? What if you hurt your brother? What if you kill him?"

"I don't want to kill anyone," I said trembling.

"Don't listen, Violet, he's manipulating you" Klaus says weakly.

I turn my head to face Klaus.

"He's right though Klaus. How do I know I won't hurt anyone. I could never live with myself if I did."
