~Violet's POV~

When I woke up I noticed an outfit laid out for me. Grace must have picked it out for me. I smiled to myself. There was a peach-colored sweater and jean overalls. Next to the clothes were a pair of white Converse.

After I finish my daily hygiene, I head downstairs. When I get downstairs I see Cal and Olive at the table.

"Good Morning, Violet," Grace said happily.

"Morning" Cal and Olive said.

" I need to go, I have this study thing before school and I can't be late for it," Olive said although I could tell she was lying.

Something wasn't right.

After Olive left there was a wave of awkward silence.

"Mom, when can dad come home?"

When Grace heard this she sighed and sat down.

" You're dad needs time to take care of some things and we agreed that it'd be best if he did that while living with Aunt Mick."

"Okay"

"Cal how about we get smoothies on the way to school?"

"Okay, sounds good"

"Violet you can stay here with me. You can tell me more about yourself."

"Alright," I said.

When Grace had her back turned I saw Cal texting his dad on his iPad.

~Ben's POV~

"I miss you" Cal texted me.

I smile at the message and told him that I missed him and that I'll visit later.

I shut off my phone and turn my attention back to the service made for Vance.

Ever since Vance died I felt guilty. I know it wasn't my fault but deep down I feel like I could have done something to prevent his death.

"You've got some nerve showing up here" Powell comes up to me and says.

"Look I don't know what you think-"

"Show so respect and leave"

I reluctantly nod my head then I left.

As I'm walking some kid comes up to me.

"Ben Stone, right? Don't tell me you believe that story about mad bombers?" He says referring to Vance's death.

I don't say anything but he continues talking.

"I'm Aaron Glover. I'm a journalist. My podcast is 828 gate"

"Podcast, is that still a thing?" I say sarcastically.

"Yeah, it's very much a thing. You should listen to it"

"Nope. No comment"

"You can't stop me from reporting that I saw you here and having a moment with Agent Powell. You seem to be pretty cozy with the NSA. My listeners are going to wonder why."

"Say what you want about the government but I'm a private citizen. Keep me out of your story."

"You are the story"

"Look, I don't know you and I don't know your podcast but you're wasting your time. I have nothing for you."

"Maybe I have something for you. Why did a chopper drop off the Major at factory Red Hook an hour before the whole thing goes boom?"

"Major who?"

"I don't know, but whoever it was is still out there. Still a threat"

"What can you do about it?"
