Niki's POV

Y/N blinked a few times. She looked around to scan her environment. Her eyes grew wide, when she realized who she was with. She curtsied. 'Your highnesses.' 'Do you remember me?' I asked. She smiled. 'Of course I do, your highness. Why would you think I had forgotten about you?' I shrugged my shoulders, feeling disappointed. I was hoping that it hadn't worked, but it had. I knew her well enough to see right through her, when others couldn't. Besides, her pupils had expanded which was one of the side effects of being compelled something she hadn't experienced until now. A rush of guilt came over me. I couldn't believe I went through with this just because of some greed. 'I'm sorry, but why did you call me, your highness? I seem to have forgotten.' I hadn't noticed she was talking to me, until Jake cleared his throat. I bit my lip, trying to think of something quickly. 'I'd like you to change my bed sheets.' She nodded, curtsied and left the room. I felt like my heart broke, but I had to stay strong now. I couldn't show my weakness to my brothers nor my father. Not anymore. I excused myself from the room as well, purposely only bowing to my father and ignoring Heeseung's gaze I felt piercing through my back. I jumped onto my bed immediately without getting a change of clothes. I wanted to sleep and just forget about everything that had happened. I closed my eyes and hugged the pillow next to me. I always had one in case Y/N couldn't sleep over. I'm not good sleeping alone. I have to hold something. After tossing and turning for an hour, I fell asleep. Normally I dream when I'm asleep, but I didn't then. It was if my body knew I needed the rest for what was to come.

4 hours later.

'Niki, get up. It's important,' Jake yelled. I rubbed my eyes still half asleep. 'What's going on, Jake?' I quickly got out of bed and put on my shoes, while walking towards the door. I looked for the key, since I had locked the door to not let anyone disturb me. 'Where's that damn key,' I yelled frustrated. I looked around and spotted it on my night stand. I grabbed it an opened the door. Jake didn't even need to explain what was going on. Behind him was Y/N. I clenched my teeth when I identified the figure next to her. Sunghoon. 'What's going on?' I hissed. 'Remember that promise you made, little brother?' 'What are you talking about?' I said annoyed. 'About assigning someone to somebody else. Well, don't worry about it. I handled it for you.' 'Over my dead body.' Sunghoon pretended to be shocked by my reaction. 'I thought you would be grateful, seeing what I did for you. I did you a big favor, you know that right.' 'You're kidding me?' He came close, so only I could hear what he was about to say. 'It could've been Heeseung, Niki,' he whispered. A shiver went down my spine. 'Jake, can't you?' I asked him in despair. 'I'm sorry brother, but father already agreed to it. Besides, I don't have servants.' I grabbed my hair out of frustration. After calming down a bit, I faced Sunghoon. 'If you lay a hand on her without permission, I'll kill you.' 'I won't,' Sunghoon answered. I was taken aback by the sincerity in his voice. It almost sounded like he really meant it. I looked at Y/N, who had her gaze down the entire conversation. 'Are you okay with this, Y/N?' She quickly put a smile on her face and curtsied. 'Of course. Your wish is my command.' I nodded. 'Thank you for your services.' 'It was my honor, your highness.' It was hard to let her go, but I had no other choice. I passed my father's test earlier and it cost me Y/N. I can't waste that now by being stubborn and selfish. Besides, she asked me to do this for her.

Y/N's POV

I was confused by the situation, but didn't think much of it. Earlier, Sunghoon had explained that he wanted me, because he thought I was the best servant in the castle. I was flattered of course, Sunghoon was a handsome prince and he had his charms. Lia warned me though, that he was a player. I know I should be careful of the princes, but it's hard when they're all so charming and I'm not going to lie; freakishly hot. It's just weird that I don't remember much about encountering them. The only thing I can remember is that I serve them, because of that stupid feud my father had. I don't remember anything about their personalities or actions over the past years. Lia did tell me that I should be careful of Niki. Apparently he called me to his room a lot and there's this rumor going around that he wants to sleep with me. I should stay away from him, I thought to myself.
