𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐲 - 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨

𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭

As Carolina went through turn fifteen she was fighting with Lando for the  track position but then, unfortunately, spun out when the car was pushed too hard.

She remembered watching her dad years ago on the very same track and how he crashed into a board when the front part of his car caved in.

"I can't feel my legs," Carolina began as she began to panic,

"Carolina are you okay?" MATTIA BINOTTO quickly asked as he watched the crash go down,

"What the fuck do you think I just said," the blonde grumbled as she tried to flip all of the buttons on her steering wheel as she panicked,

"I can't get out, I'm stuck." She added as she finally gave up,

"We'll get you out of there as soon as we can." The Italian nodded before he switched off the radio and started working.

The girl made her way out of the medics tent to see Daniel,

He had retired after a problem with the suspension.

"Lina!" Daniel let out a sigh of relief as he saw her,

"Inside voices Dan," Carolina groaned as everything was just too loud,

"Right, sorry." The Australian nodded as he forgot that the girl would most likely not hear a lot for the next few hours,

"How are you?" He added as he cocked his head

"I can't feel anything in my legs right but that's going to change in a few minutes." The German confessed as she had lost most of the feeling below her knees,

"We should get you a seat then," the boy nodded as he placed his hand on her back as he saw her slightly stumble,

"No I'm fine," the girl shook her head as she tucked her hair behind her ear,

"I just want to get this all over and done with," she added as she sent him a soft smile knowing that she knew that she needed to get through interviews.

"Is your head okay?" The McLaren driver asked as he stopped walking for a second,

"Daniel I swear to-" the Ferrari girl sent him a glare as she let out a scoff,

"There is a cut," Daniel pointed out as he dragged his finger along the mark,

"Oh," Carolina went quiet as she quickly followed his fingers,

"I never noticed it," she added with a shrug.

"A good battle scar for the books," the girl giggled, as she couldn't help but crack a smile,

"Are you sure you're okay?" The boy asked as he didn't want her to be hiding something,

"I've been through crashes before the halo, I'm sure I'll survive this." There was no secret that the blonde had been through the wringer in her first season with McLaren due to the crashes she experienced,

But she was still standing and wasn't going to go down without a fight.

Despite the fact that she told him that she was fine on countless occasions,

He still had to make sure she was good.

"Wow," Daniel stopped in his tracks as he saw the girl in her dress,

"Lewis said he wanted me at the party tonight so I got dressed," Carolina smiled as she did a twirl,

"But I'm going to go to check on Max," she added as she held out her box that was in her hand,

"You two are friends?" The boy asked as he cocked his head,

"Not really but we talk sometimes and he probably wants these," the girl shook her head as she smiled,

"What are those?" The McLaren driver asked as he cocked his head,

"Cookies," the Ferrari driver explained,

"Kimi gave them to me the first time I DNF'ed and I've been giving them to Max since last season." She added as she smiled thinking back to the time she had with Kimi when she was younger,

"Well I won't stop you then," Daniel almost let out a sigh as he felt defeated,

"You can come with you know that right?" Carolina spoke in a duh tone,

"You're his friend so I'm sure he'll be happy to see you." She added as she almost wanted him to say yes.

The duo laughed as they made their way to Max's door.

"It took you-" Max began as he opened his door,

"I didn't think I would see you here," he added as he looked to see that Daniel was there to,

"I asked him to come," Carolina explained with a smile,

"Figured you could use both of us," she added as she shrugged,

"Come in," the Dutchman nodded as he fully opened the door.

"How'd you know I was here?" He added as he cocked his head,

"I bugged your boss until he told me," the German revealed as she smirked due to the boys reaction,

"How long did it take him to break?" Max asked at the mention of CHRISTIAN HORNER,

"Less than a minute," Carolina explained as she handed him the box,

"Apparently I'm quite headstrong," she added as she shrugged,

The trio ended up staying in his room for the rest of the evening despite the fact that two of them were dressed up,

They found a bucket of beers that 𝐎𝐋𝐆𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐕𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐊 had sent Carolina as a get well soon gift, so they spent their time together just drinking those and catching up.

Despite the fact that Max was probably the furthest from being sober he knew one thing that he was bound to remember tomorrow.
