𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐲 - 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨

𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞

With having the short break between the majority of the drivers were spending the time either relaxing or working,

"I didn't know you lived here," Carolina mumbled as her neighbour's door opened to reveal Daniel stood there,

"Carolina," Daniels's eyes went wide as he didn't expect to see her either,

"I don't actually," he added as he wrapped his fingers around the door,

"You taking up the job of house robbing during your free time?" The Ferrari driver joked as she smiled,

"Just trying it out," the McLaren driver nodded as he tried to remain calm,

He wasn't as nervous around her when he wasn't alone.

"I swear to god if you don't shut that door and sit your ass down," 𝐉𝐀𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐘 let out a groan that sounded like it was meant to be a warning at the same time,

"I just need to get my cat," the German explained as she caught a glimpse of the mystery man,

"Oh there is a girl," the radio host got up from his seat with wide eyes as he was embarrassed,

"I'm actually your neighbour." Carolina motioned in the direction of her own flat,

"Sorry about that," the younger Australian apologised as he didn't realise she was in the flat he was renting out,

"Where exactly is your cat?" He added as he changed the subject,

"Just on the balcony," the German motioned to the ginger fluffball who was sat on the chair,

"Well then right this way," Jasper nodded as the trio all made their way over.

The drivers were stood on the balcony as they caught up clearly both forgetting why they were out there once Roberto was in the girl's arms.

"So why exactly are you like really here?" Carolina asked as Jasper was back inside so she felt like Daniel would tell her.

"Well Jas asked if I could help him with some work and I figured why not," Daniel explained as he ran his fingers through his hair,

"How was your race win celebrations?" He added as he knew that the girl had a party,

"You should have come," the Ferrari driver was quick to note that the boy didn't go with to be with them,

She had to admit that it did kind of hurt that he didn't bother pitching.

"I wasn't invited," the McLaren driver couldn't tell if he was trying to be sarcastic not,

He was getting nervous again.

"Dan you've known me long enough to know what if you show up I'm not about to turn you away." The German rolled her eyes as she softly smiled,

"And I actually really like your company," she added in a duh tone,

"He's fun when he's drunk," Jasper nodded in agreement as he had heard just about everything that they had been saying,

"What can we help you with?" The older Australian asked as he made the mental note to kill him later,

"Moving this along, we have work to do." The radio host reminded the duo as it was made obvious to him that they could be sat out there for a while if he wasn't careful,

"Right yeah," Carolina nodded as she remembered,

"Well thank you for letting me get my cat back." She added as she smiled at the younger boy,

"Anytime," Jasper mirrored her grin,

"Oh, and Daniel one last thing," the blonde turned around to him as they were making their way to the door,

"Yeah," Daniel nodded as he cocked his head,

"You're like the only person who still calls me Carolina in the paddock," the German didn't mind it but she thought it was kind of funny,

He was one of the drivers on the grid who had known her for the longest and he had never given her a nickname.

"My dad only calls me that when I'm in trouble," she added with a soft giggle,

"Oh I'm sorry," the McLaren driver apologised as he felt bad,

"It's nothing to be sorry about," the girl shook her head,

"It's just about time you thought of a nickname for me." She added as she sent him a jokingly serious look,

"Give me till next week," the Australian proposed as they had another race coming up,

Portugal was going to be fun.

"I'll be holding you to that," the Ferrari driver warned before she walked out of the flat,

"I have no doubt about that," Daniel nodded before he sent her a soft wave and shut the door,

"So how long exactly has it been since you began to like her?" Jasper asked as he could tell how obvious it was,

He had just met the girl his best friend was in love with.

"Since the day she showed up in the McLaren paddock." The driver let out a sigh.
