Fili's POV
It all started as it always did with Kili's stupidity, we had just escaped the eleven dungeons in nothing less the barrels (wouldn't have been my first choice) but as we were floating down the river a horn sounded alerting the guards that we had escaped. The damn eleven guarding the river exit pulled a lever that was sticking up from the wall surrounding their kingdom. We knew our luck was running short but we never expected what came next, something fell with a great splash behind us, the whole company turned in alarm only to see something even more terrifying a dead elf with an Orc arrow sticking from its neck. This couldn't end well, we were stuck under a wall pressed up against a gate of bars with no weapons and not escape. Suddenly there was a commotion from the woods on our right, a small group of elves maybe 20 were attacking the Orcs led by a tall elf with a head of pure white hair, clearly his second in command was an elf none like any we had seen before her hair was red like fire opposed to that of the blond or brunettes amongst the group. The battle was intense but we were still stuck, the next thing I saw was of course my younger much more foolish brother jump to the rescue, he was climbing the wall up to the lever he had nearly made it when there was the Sound of an arrow in flight. I heard a sound not like any before, it was a cry of pure pain Kili had been shot directly in the knee and was laying on the ground helpless. I called out for him but I couldn't be heard over the sounds of fighting and the screams of dying elves and orcs. With his last ounce of strength Kili hoisted himself up and pulled the lever, the gate opened and the barrels started moving again, Kili jumped or more like fell over the edge into his barrel knocking the arrow free from his leg and I heard that scream again, pure pain. As we headed down the river I was fully aware of the battle raging on around us but I was to focused on my brother he was getting paler and paler by the moment and not to mention he was in so much pain he couldn't keep his barrel up right it was turning and tipping in the current, I did my best to keep me and him up right but it was very difficult. When we reached shore I hauled myself and my brother ashore to look at his wound. we were allowed just 2 minutes to bind it so nothing was done right. Kili wasn't looking so good but he insisted he was fine and that he didn't need help. I'm going to skip the the boring story from here to where we are now. Uncle wouldn't allow Kili to venture to the mountain because he said he would just slow them down, Kili was in bad shape I mean really bad, the arrow that he took to the knee was poisoned and he wasn't looking good. The company headed out across the lake towards the mountain leaving me, my brother, Gloin, and Bofur in lake town to fend for our selves. As we were headed back into town Kili suddenly collapsed into the icy lake water, me and what remained of the company pulled him out. That's when we noticed how pale and sickly he looked. We decided to take him to the only place we thought we could get help. The home of Bard the bargeman who smuggled us into lake town. When we arrived there was no warm welcome he immediately tried to slam the door on us, after I begged and pleaded with him about my brother he let us in. We got Kili into a bed, he was shaking and had a horrible fever, we all knew it but no one wanted to admit that he was dying and there was nothing we could do. We tried everything we could think of, no luck he was only getting worse. They sent Bofur out to get kings foil in hopes to bring his fever down. Things went even farther down hill from there, we were attacked by a pack of orcs and with no weapons too. Just when I was starting to give up the two elves we had seen before barged through the door killing what orcs were left inside in just a matter of minutes, the blond elf went to the door and called for the other to follow, she took a long look at my brother and refused. She would not let my little brother die. Just then Bofur returned, he looked around the room in horror. Kili was even worse, the room was destroyed and there were dead orcs lying sprawled out on the floor. The red headed elf grabbed the Kings fool out of Bofurs hand and commanded us to put Kili on the kitchen tablet. By the time we got him up on the table he was coming in and out of consciousness, the pain was overwhelming him. The elf pressed the Kings foil into his leg and began chanting in elvish, as soon as the chant begun he started to scream in agony, and we tried to hold him down. It didn't take long before he lost consciousness, I started to worry instantly his breath became ragged and uneven and his eyes rolled back in his head, we were loosing him. I tried whispering encouraging things in his ear but I could tell he couldn't hear me. When I had just given up hope that I had lost him for good his fever dropped suddenly and his breathing evened out. the elf stumbled backward into the wall exhausted I looked between her and her brother, I finally see why she risked so much to save him, she loved him.
