Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

It was gloomy and dark when Aika reached the Sound village. Food smells were all over the streets and kids were chuckling around. Whether it was a long walk or her long sleep, her mind and vision started to feel a bit unclear.

"Hey, are you alright?" was the last thing she heard when a guy approached her. Aika saw her long-lost teammate's necklace, Nawaki's necklace, and her mind went completely dark.

'Flashback:

Three kids running up the trees trying to beat each other. She couldn't see their faces or hear their voices, just silhouettes but it wasn't necessary for Aika to feel her team members, Nawaki and Suigetsu.'

She woke up with the sunrise, in a blank room, on a single mattress and an orange coat covering her like a blanket. She smelled it, a familiar smell that she couldn't figure out what was from. Only a moment after she noticed the yellow-haired boy beside her, not on the mattress but on a cold ground. 

The jacket probably was his, that's what Aika thought. Strangely enough, she wasn't scared but still wanted to slink off. As soon as she moved a bit, the boy moved as well, opening his bright blue eyes, "oh, you alright?", he quickly sat up and started talking fast, "You don't have to fear me I swear, I just caught you being unconscious, I didn't know you and where your home is and didn't want to leave you there so I..." he continued with his explanation, that Aika surprisingly found as something 'adorable'.

"Thank you", was all she said to him.

"Welcome, I am Naruto by the way... and you are very beautiful", he blushed.

...

"Thanks again, can you please help me reach someplace in the village, Naruto? I can barely use my feet"

"Sure", he answered without a moment of hesitation. 

Time passes~

Naruto carried Aika up to the other side of the village. To his surprise, the Sound village wasn't that different from the Leaf village. At least, from the outside, it seemed an ordinary one. He also couldn't forget he is here for a reason and has a mission he has to complete.

Once they reached their destination that Aika instructed he saw the strange architectured building that had a snakeskin pattern on some parts and the towers looked like snakes targeting something in the air.

"What's this place?"Aika tapped on his shoulder and he put her on the ground.

"The palace where Solikage is", Aika replied without any hesitation, "come with me, eat something and then you will continue your trip", she said and looked at him from her shoulder, then turned back and walked towards the palace entry.

"Oh wait, are you sure?", asked Naruto and hurried after her without hearing an answerback.

To his surprise, no one stopped them when they entered. Guards and people in the palace just let them in and moreover sat at a table as she asked. As if they knew her very well.

"I should meet my brother Naruto, can you please wait here? I will be quick and don't worry it's safe here"

All the words Naruto could associate with Sound village were "danger, evil" and in no way "safety", yet he ought to believe her. And she was correct, no one disturbed him, no one stood by to keep an eye on him while she was gone.

Aika entered the room where Haku was. He was laying on the bed, eyes slightly opened from the noise from her footsteps.

"Haku, are you alright? How do you feel?"

"Aika" Haku glanced at her, "happy to see you", while she wanted to answer, tears forming in her eyes, Haku asked, "why did you bring a jinchuriki with you to the palace?"

She froze instantly. So, not being able to use chakra led to not being able to sense chakra at all. "Is he a ninja? A jinchuriki? Are you sure?" she asked.

"Yes, and with great power. There should be a reason he came with you. Do you need guards sent to him?"

She lowered her head and thought for a moment before answering. "No, I don't think it's something we should be worried about, but it surely isn't a plain coincidence that we met"
