CHAPTER 5: MAGNA AND THE CURSED STONE TABLET

*Jesse was put down by the psychic grasp of the Mismagius before him, Gubo however was kept floating in the air with a dark purple aura around him by Magna. Jesse started to shiver again, this time in fear.*

Magna: "There, I put you down. I'm only still carrying this one because YOU took him out and he can't move. Are we good to get going now?"

Jesse: "What are you? And how do you know who we are? Are you here to abduct us?"

*Magna looked at Jesse with a stern expression, and replied.*

Magna: "I just told you, I'm Magna. I'm a Mismagius. And if I were here to abduct you, alerting you to my presence immediately would not be how I would have gone about it. I'm not here to kill you, which to me is quite the shame since you two were basically sitting ducks until I arrived, heheheh."

*Jesse looked concerned over whether he should trust Magna or not. To Jesse, she seemed very sketchy. This was made worse by the fact that she was a ghost in a forest full of ghosts that Gubo told him would do the very thing she claims she has no intention of. As Jesse was working this out in his head. Magna started floating away into the trees with Gubo in her psychic hold.*

Jesse: "Wait! How can I know I can trust you?"

Magna: "Well if you don't then you can be lost in Death's Grove for all of eternity and become a Ghost type Pokémon yourself for all I care. I'm only here to take this one back home, what you do about it is your choice not mine."

*Jesse looked angry that this stranger was taking Gubo away from him and started to chase Magna demanding answers. But the moment Jesse got close to Magna, she turned around and stared at him dead in the eyes.*

Magna: "I know you are distressed, but I wouldn't think about trying anything funny. You and I both know I could kill you in a heartbeat if I so wanted to. Especially since you don't even know how to use your powers yet."

Jesse: "How do you know so much about me, yet I know nothing about you!?!"

*Magna paused and then eyeballed Jesse from top to bottom, gawking at him for continuing to talk back to her.*

Magna: "Let's just say I have my informants and leave it at that... And it's probably better for you if your knowledge about me stays the way it is. Now are you going to stop whining and come along or not?"

*Jesse frowned, but walked slowly towards Magna and complied with her. In response, Magna grinned at Jesse devilishly and then turned back around to continue walking, carrying Gubo with her as she moved. Jesse followed. The trio walked through the forest, as they did, most of the ghosts watching Jesse and Gubo fled at the sight of Magna.*

Magna: "You have some guts talking back to me kid, I can't tell if you are really brave and heroic, or incredibly dense and stupid."

Jesse: "How else am I supposed to react when a weird ghostly creature carries away the only friend I have and then threatens me with death when I try to stand up for myself? You are telling me I'm supposed to just let that happen?"

*Magna smiled and laughed at Jesse after hearing what he just said.*

Magna: "Heheheh! Good lord Arceus, you are still doing it even now. You know sometimes it's a good idea to shut up and go along with things you know."

*With everything that Magna said, Jesse seemed to get angrier. However with everything Jesse said, Magna seemed to get more and more amused.*

Magna: "Before you say another word I want to make a few things very clear. Firstly, I did not threaten you with death, I gave you the option to follow me or die alone, which if anything is closer to blackmail. You chose to live and follow me, so I am of no threat to your life."
