Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Linked Souls

CHAPTER 16: FRIENDS, FOES AND STRAIGHT UP WEIRDO'S

*Team Gardralim stood together next to three other teams, one of which being Team Balance. Everyone there was either confused as to what was going on or waiting for the guildmaster to show up. A few moments later, Mimi appeared from within the guildmaster's chambers and addressed the group, he looked a little unusual however.*

Mimi: "Good morning recruits! Glad you could all make it in time. I am Guildmaster Mimi, of the Mimikyu Guild."

Jesse's Thoughts: "That's Mimi? He looks completely different, like he's dressed up just like Ali. Speaking of Ali, it's odd to see Mimi standing without him around."

Mimi: "Since half of us already know each other, I'll skip introductions and cut right to the chase. From this day forward all twelve of you will be recognised as recruits of the guild. This means that you may now use guild services and live within guild property, along with doing missions on behalf of the guild. Our training regime is rather strict, but I'm sure you all knew that already."

*Jesse looked around to see all the new recruits. Some of these Pokémon he had never even seen before. He was quick to notice that everyone was paying attention to Mimi as he was talking, except one who was looking at Jesse instead. The other Pokémon noticed Jesse had caught him staring and quickly turned away to face Mimi. Jesse didn't think much of this, and ignored it.*

Mimi: "For your first few days at the guild you will be assigned work by either myself or Ali, who is the nice young Wobbuffet you met yesterday. Once we deem you as competent enough not to choose jobs beyond your skill level then we will let you choose what work you do as teams. Before I continue, I would like to introduce you all to Rando. He is a Rhydon, and is in charge of the guild's Assembly and Registry services."

*The group looked towards the left to see a rather tall figure approach them. It was Rando, and he was much larger than even Ali was. Jesse looked quite intimidated to see a creature of his size approach them so casually.*

Mimi: "Rando will now call the register, this is to make sure we definitely have everyone. If any of you would like to make any changes to the details we have on file for all of you, now is the time."

*Rando stood forward with a clipboard in his hand, he put on some glasses and began to call out names.*

Rando: "Would the team leaders please step forward. I'll go in from left to right starting with Team Gardralim, and ending with Team Venom."

*Gubo, Hailey and two other Pokémon stood forward as they were called. Jesse felt nervous about being announced in front of the group like this and was scared to hear his name be called out.*

Rando to Gubo: "Gubo. Species, Goomy. Sex is male, age is 20. Dragon type Pokémon. Ability, Gooey. Is that all correct?"

Gubo to Rando: "Sure is!"

Jesse's Thoughts: "They have that much on file despite only knowing us for a day? That's kinda scary. I wonder what they have on me? Some of the info they had on Gubo I didn't even know."

Jesse to Gubo: "Hey, what's the ability part mean? Gooey? What's that?"

Gubo to Jesse: "Oh, an ability is something all Pokémon have, usually what ability you have depends on what Pokémon you are. My Gooey ability slows people down if they make contact with me because my goo gets all over them."

Jesse to Gubo: "I guess that explains why I'm always covered in it when I touch you then. I wonder what my ability is."

Rando to Gubo: "As for your team members we have, let's see... Jesse. Species, Ralts. Sex is female, age is 18. Psychic/Fairy type Pokémon. Ability, Trace. Is that correct?"
