Daniel had talked to Dax and he had agreed to play the part. Two hours later we were all sitting on the beach or surfing. If anyone saw us they would think we were all insane, it was November. And we were surfing.

I sat next to Dax and leaned my head on his shoulder, thinking to myself how terrible I felt about this. I couldn’t get the thought out of my head, but when Dax twined his fingers in mine and sent a tingle through my blood; I stopped thinking straight.

Dax leaned and whispered in my ear, “Here comes the Keeper. Daniel is talking to him by the road opening.” With that he placed a light kiss on my cheek.

I stood up and grabbed Dax’s hand, smiling. “Come on, we came here to surf didn’t we?” I walked towards the water looking over my shoulder and giving Dax a teasing “come and get me” grin. With a hunters gleam in his eyes, Dax stood up and started running after me, picking up his board while he ran.

The cold water splashed at my face and I felt a hand grab at my waist, but slip off. Laughing like a little kid, I paddled towards a wave and dived under it.

It seemed like only minutes later that Daniel told us it was time for dinner. I ruffled my hair when I got back onto the sandy beach. “Alright Dax and I will head up first and start the food, you guys can all come up in a few minutes.” Calla smiled, but didn’t say anything.

The Keeper raised an eyebrow, but also didn’t say anything.

We both climbed onto Dax’s four-wheeler and sped off.

I kept myself close to Dax, breathing in his intoxicating scent. The wind whipped my hair around and I couldn’t help but feel strangely safe with him. Back at the pack house, we ran up the stairs into the kitchen. I pulled out the mushrooms and Dax began filling a large pot to start the water boiling.

Bryn, we are on our way back to the house. You and Dax need to get caught kissing or something… ok? I know this is weird but it’s for the packs’. That was Calla who spoke through our link.

I turned to Dax. “You heard that, right?” Dax nodded. “Got any ideas?”

A grin crept its way onto Dax’s face. “The hallway in between our rooms will work, like we were going to change, and then stopped to kiss.”

Without warning Dax picked me up bridal style, making me yelp in surprise. I clung to his neck, but was shortly let down in the hall after we had gone upstairs.

I tried to swallow the nervousness I felt. What the Hell? I was an alpha, scared of nothing, except kissing!? I had no clue what I was doing. Luckily Dax knew what to do, but he was still cautious with me.

He started by kissing my shoulder, which made my heart race. Dax smiled against my skin, and then moved up to kiss along my jaw. Every touch set my blood on fire, no matter how hard I tried to stop it.

Four-wheelers came skidding to a halt outside as Dax hovered his lips over mine. “We don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.”

“My pack is in danger… I’m ready to do anything for them.” My fingers twined into his hair and I pulled him against me.

Dax wrapped his arms around me and pressed his lips against mine. I placed my hand on his cheek, but I couldn’t stop thinking about how much Dax would do to help me. But that thought was quickly lost by Dax’s lips on mine.

I could feel something boiling up inside me, almost begging for more. Footsteps sounded just inside the front door, but I didn’t care. A low groan came from the back of his throat, and I lost all control. My fingers tangled in his thick black hair and one of my hands rested on his broad chest.
