Y/N TURNED EXCITEDLY ON their heels, a filled grocery bag clutched in the crook of their arm. their steps cascaded against the city streets, reverberating slightly off the buildings. when they made it to the recognizable alleyway, y/n let out a whistle, making two small mice scurry away, trudging further in the darkness on four feet.
this noise was meant to alert two specific people though, and it certainly worked. you spotted two shadow figures getting closer and closer to you from the darkness, eventually revealing themselves under the street lights. "Y/N!" they both exclaimed, running up to you and hugging you tightly. you giggled at them, patting their heads and hugging back. when they finally pulled away, tommy and tubbo faced you with puppy eyes.
you took out some of the snacks in your grocery bag and gave it to them, watching their eyes light up with joy. while you were staring down at them, you noticed a very tall, lanky shadow in the distance from behind tommy's shoulder. when you blinked, the shadow seemed to get closer, projecting itself against the building's wall with an increasing height. you suddenly began stepping back, staring at the figure slowly advancing forward, shadow growing larger and larger, although you couldn't trace out a distinct stature within the darkness, just the tall shadow that slowly crept forward.
tommy and tubbo noticed this change in your expression, seeing you looking quite terrified. they turned around and instantly recognized the figure that stepped out of the darkness, showing themselves. their shadow made their height appear over-exaggerated but they were certainly tall. like not just tall... very tall. their head was quite literally at least a foot or two above the side door of the building beside them, making you swallow down your anxiety.
you looked them in the eyes, seeing two different color irises. one red and one green containing a piercing stare that could've burned a hole into your soul. "let. them. go." they growled out, advancing forward awfully slow, keeping their eyes solely on you. before you could step back even more, your expression dropping and lacing with even more horror, tommy and tubbo immediately latched onto you, holding you tight and close to them as if they were hugging you.
"NO RANBOO! THEY'RE SAFE!" tubbo exclaimed. "yeah! they haven't hurt us. look! they're the one that gives us food!" tommy confirmed, him and tubbo both holding out their snacks in the air. the figure seemed to calm down quickly, collecting themselves. their eyes had a softer glow to it, signaling that they were no longer feeling resentful. "oh. well in that case..." they said in a more cheery tone, walking up to you with a pep in their step.
