'Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limobreaks down.'-Oprah Winfrey

5 years, 5 months, 5 days and 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds, 4 seconds, 5 seconds... since he had made the worst mistake of his entire life.

Rejecting Summer was the worst decision he had ever made. Looking back over the 5 years she was gone, he realized how much he missed her, how much he needed her.

The second she left he felt his world break apart. His heart yearned for her. The scent of her 'peaches and cream' still lingers around his mind.

That was the scent permeating his brain, making it impossible for him to forget what a fool he had been. He was currently in her childhood bedroom, a place she spent 18 years of her life.

He only leaves to do a bit of Alpha work, which is to say none at all, or to fulfill bodily functions.

Other than that he spends his time lying on her sheets, and spraying them with the peaches perfume, just to have the memory of her inside him.

His wolf Damon hasn't spoken to him in four years. Ever since he rejected Summer his life has been in a downward spiral.

The only time he might say a word or two was when he was in Summer's room. Only for a moment to berate me on what a fuck up he was. Tyler has become such a useless Alpha that more times than not he refused to speak to Damon.

His father gave him the reins of the pack four years ago but had to take it back as Tyler was useless. It had taken him until now to realize how much he loved her.

How much does one need a mate to function normally?

He undermined her thinking she was the one who couldn't live without him but really, he was the one who couldn't live without her. He loved her.

How pathetic was he?

He rejected her love thinking she wasn't good enough to be Luna but the truth was that he wasn't good enough to be Alpha without her.

In the four years that she has been gone, everyone avoided him like he was the bubonic plague. With all right, he would be taken their life with the slightest aggravation. Shit didn't he convince himself to reject her for that very same reason.

"Alpha Tyler you need to train our warriors."

His Beta Chuck said as he turned his back to him.

"Go away, Chuck."

Tyler said as Beta Chuck busted into his room.

"Five years Tyler, four fucking years since you have taken over this pack and you have left it to crumble. I mean if any pack decided to attack then 100% of us would perish!"

Beta Chuck yelled as Tyler sighed.

"It doesn't matter. She isn't here. I had her and I let her slip away. I rejected her. I'm so stupid."

Tyler said yelling at Beta Chuck.

"Who are you talking about Tyler?"

Beta Chuck shouted as Tyler cried.

"My mate."

Tyler said as Beta Chuck's face fell in shock.

"You have a mate!"

Beta Chuck yelled as Tyler nodded.

"Well, where is she, and why haven't you introduced her to the pack?"

Beta Chuck asked as Tyler turned away.

"I rejected her and she left the pack the following day."

Tyler said as Beta Chuck put all the pieces together.

"Summer Smith, the Beta's daughter. That's why she left."

Beta Chuck said putting all the clues together as Tyler cried unable to hold everything in.

"I picked up man. And now I don't even know where she is. She could be anywhere in the world and it would be all my fault. "

Tyler said as Beta Chuck looked at him. This was a real pickle. But he wasn't an Alpha. He was meant to lead. He was a Beta, he was meant to help shoulder the responsibilities of an Alpha. He was a Beta and that meant he wasn't meant to do Alpha duties

"Our pack needs some serious training. And I can't do it by myself."

Beta Chuck said as Tyler sighed.

"What do you want to do?"

Tyler asked Beta Chuck sighed.

"Get help!"

Beta Chuck yelled as Tyler thought about it for a minute.

"What about the Silver Moon Pack? I hear their Gamma is pretty amazing. He has trained their pack and made them next to invincible."

Beta Chuck said as Tyler sighed and stretched out his hand with their number.

"You know I hate you right now Chuck."

Tyler said as Beta Chuck laughed.

"His Alpha's name is Alpha Chase Logan."

"Okay Essence that's a good block."

Summer said to her daughter as she blocked the attack from a pack member that she was currently sparing with. At four years old she could attack and defend herself better than most other pack members. It did help that she had a Gamma as a mother. Right now she was going against a 19-year-old boy Michael and she was kicking ass like a pro, just like her momma taught her. Essence rolled beneath him and kicked him in his ass causing him to fall forward on his face. Jumping on his back she grabbed his left hand and twisted it around his back. She whispered pin you to him as he used his other hand to tap out. Essence got up and ran towards her mother.

"Mom I kicked ass."

Essence said as Summer looked at my four years and a half years old child. She had been hanging around Chase and Charles for far too long.

"Essence, language."

Summer chastised as everyone else laughed. Essence was now four years old but had the intelligence of someone twice her age. She had dark hair down to her waist, and the deepest blue eyes she had ever seen. She was so beautiful with flawless skin. She was a perfect mixture of both her parents.

"Sorry."

Essence said as I opened my arms to hold her.

"Mom."

Essence said as she looked down at her.

"Where is my father?"

Essence asked as I looked at her unsure how to answer.

"Far away in a different pack."

Summer answered honestly.

"Will I ever get to see him?"

She asked as she felt her heart constrict. It's been four years without her mate and her wolf, and Kate hardly ever talks to her. Only if it's something to do with Essence or if I even dare think about Tyler then she felt her stir, but that's all she gets.

"One day."

Summer said as Essence smiled and wandered off.

"Summer, I need to speak to you."

Alpha Logan said as soon as Essence left.

"Yes, Alpha Logan."

Summer said as she followed him into the office.

"I'll cut straight to the chase, another pack has a problem with rogues and requires us to train their warriors."

Alpha Logan said as Summer nodded

"Okay, no problem, which pack?"

Summer asked. But the look on his face told her all she needed to know

"The Cresent Pack. "
