The whole pack was gathered together. They lit a bonfire and were roasting meat over the firepit that they had built. Alcohol was passed among the adults, while fruit juice was given to the children. There was singing and laughter throughout the entire pack.

"Still think we're a pack of savages?"

Alpha Tyler asked as he sat down beside his mate, who was busy explaining the pack dynamics to Rowan and Lulu.

"No, of course not Alpha. My brother and I apologize deeply for our misconceptions."

Lulu said as Alpha Tyler chuckled.

"Do you want to hear the story of how I met my mate?"

Alpha Tyler asked still a bit inhibited. Both Rowan and Lulu nodded enthusiastically, as Alpha Tyler chuckled.

"Well back then, my mate and I hated each other...well, I disliked her. She was the nerdy daughter of the Beta, and that's all I saw her as. My girlfriend at the time, Chloe, well if I'm being honest wasn't my girlfriend more like an occasional hook-up, was so sure that she was my mate that she convinced even me. When I transformed into my wolf for the first time, Damon took one look at Chloe and rejected her, walked up to Summer, and we were mated that very night. That's how Essence was born."

Alpha Tyler said as Essence squirmed. Just thinking about that was a little weird for Essence.

"And now with that image, I've been mentally scarred for life."

Essence said as she took a swing of her liquor while everyone around her laughed.

"You're just a walking Netflix movie. I mean you could go on TV and come out as werewolves. You. would be paid millions."

Rowan said as Alpha Tyler growled at the idea.

"Rowan, Lulu, listen to me very carefully. The existence of werewolves is a carefully guarded secret. We can't let anyone, who is not connected to the pack find out about us. It's best if the world continues to think that we are just urban legends. It keeps us safe and protected."

Alpha Tyler explained as Rowan nodded his head. He could understand their need for secrecy.

"We understand Alpha."

Rowan said as Lulu nodded in agreement. The members of the pack decided to go for a run in the forest, and Rowan and Lulu watched in amazement as they transformed from human to wolf, within split seconds. This had to be one of the most amazing things he had ever seen. Just then, he laid eyes on the most beautiful female he had ever seen. She had ice-blond hair and purple eyes that seem to contrast each other. His skin was as pale as milk, but she was beautiful, like a fairytale Norwegian Princess.

"Mate."

The female said ss Rowan stood enchanted by her, unable to move, unable to think, unable to breathe. He knew what a mate was. Alpha Tyler had sat down and explained it all to him and Lulu. They had learned that the Moon Goddess had split each person's soul into two, and only in finding your mate will you find the other half of your soul. They would complete you. He had also been told about what it means to reject a mate. The pain each of them would feel. The female looked as if she was about to cry. She must have been wondering why he luck was so bad that she was paired with a former werewolf hunter.

"I implore you not to act impulsively. Some words take a second to say and a lifetime to take back. I can attest to that, I don't want you to make the same mistake I did, because of ignorance or arrogance."

Alpha Tyler said remorsefully as Summer snuggled into his chest.

"And how many times am I going to have to tell you that I forgive you completely? You have been a wonderful mate, a loving husband, a kind father, and a benevolent Alpha. You are the man of my dreams."
