Hanging Out

Me and Drake walked out of the school right after the bell rang. I asked Drake. "Where do you want to go?" Drake looked at me and said. "Any where's fine with me." I nodded my head and said. "Want to go to the donut shop to get some?" Drake smiled and said. "Yeah why not?" We started walking to the donut shop in silence. Well this is awkward. I look at the sea in the distance, a gust of wind blows in my hair making it come to life. I closed my eyes and sniffed the air. I love the smell of the ocean. Drake was looking at me, I turned and asked. "What?" He stayed silent, I looked at him confused. "Uhm, Drake?" He finally spoke. "Come on let's go get those donuts!" He smiled at me after he said that. We started walking again talking about what music we listen to and which we suggest to each other. We arrived at the donut shop and went inside, when we got in it smelled sweet and it felt warm in there. We walked up to the counter and started choosing what we wanted. "I'll get one powdered donut and one glazed please." I turned to Drake. "What do you want? I'll pay." Drake pulled out his own money and said. "I'll buy my own." He turned to the cashier and said. "I'll take one chocolate donut and a cinnamon twist please." I gave him my money and combined his with it and gave it to the cashier, she gave us our bag and we walked out. I grabbed my glazed donut and started to eat it, Drake reached in for his chocolate donut. He got it and started eating it. He looks so cute when he's eating.
WAIT!!! What the actual hell is wrong with me?!? I put my hands in my hair and scrunch my hair together. Why am I thinking like this? I glance at Drake and he has a sprinkle stuck on the corner of his mouth, I reach my hand towards his face. He looks at me confused, I grab the sprinkle and eat it. Drake blushes and stares at me, I blush a bright red and explained. "You had a sprinkle on the side of your mouth and it was bothering me so I took it." I looked down and blushed. He nodded and said. "Its fine." I finished my glaze donut and grabbed a napkin. Then I said. "Music store next?" Drake nodded and said "Yeah." We started walking to My Tunes the best music store in the neighborhood. We finally got there and looked for some good albums. Drake walked toward the rock isle and I stayed in the alternative rick section. I looked through the CDs and found awesome Sleeping with Sirens CD, I walked toward the isle that he was in but I stopped when I turned the corner. I saw Drake holding a blonde girl with a polka dot shirt and pink skirt. She had her arms wrapped around him, I soon realized that they were kissing. What the hell am I seeing?!? Whys he kissing her?! Wait a minute, he's a dude and it's not like we're a thing or something we're probably very far from that.
I stood there wide eyed and turned away. Did i just see that? My heart feels.....weird for some reason. I grabbed the CDs I wanted, walked to the register pulled out my money and walked outside to the bench next to the shop. After 15 minutes or so Drake came out a little bit red, I avoided eye contact and looked at the ground. Drake frownded and asked. "Are you alright Ivy?" I kept looking at the ground and nodded. I got my powdered donut out of the bag and Drake reached in for his cinnamon twist, our hands touched for a moment but I pulled mine away and started to eat my donut. Drake paused for a moment then got his out and started to eat. It was awkwardly silent, and that picture if him and that girl kissing was burned into my mind. I kept catching my self looking at him, Stop looking at him! He practically proved that you were nothing like that to him! You need to forget about him, its for the better. Besides Amethyst probably likes him, and I would never come in between her and someone else. Drake broke the silence and said " Are you sure your OK?" I nodded and continued eating, he leaned towards me and put his hand on my shoulder. I tensed up, Drake got too close for comfort and I moved away from him. He looked at me straight faced and said again. "What's wrong?" I shake my head and said. "Nothing! Nothings wrong!" I lied everything was wrong, this whole day was wrong. Then suddenly he put his hands on both my shoulders and said. "Please tell me I know your lying." I lifted my head to see his blue and green eyes, then I turned my head so I won't look at him. Then I heard, "Drake, Drake!" Drake turned around to see what the sound was. It was the blond girl he kissed, I felt my face heat up and my eyes getting teary. When she reached Drake she jumped in his arms and hugged him, Drake smiled at her and blushed. They started to talk forgetting I was there, then the girl asked. "Who's she Drake?" He looked at me, I turned my head away from him and he said. "Her names Ivy she's the girl I met at the music store in L.A." She smiled at me and held out her hand and said "Hi I'm Patricia." I nodded and said "hello." They began to talk again and I walked away to the café so I can be alone. I put my head phones on and I was almost halfway there when I felt someone grab my arm and cover my mouth. I attempted to run but whoever  it was was pretty strong. I leaned against the wall when the person uncovered my mouth and let go of my arm, I couldn't see who it was because they had their hood on. It came closer to me and I punched it in the stomach it fell in pain, I pulled its hood back to see my old friend Kisumi. "You scared the crap out of me you ass!" He got up and smiled. " I knew I would." He giggled and gave me a hug, I hugged him back. He stopped hugging and said. "Guess what?" I asked with an eyebrow raised. "What did you do this time?" He laughed and said. "Nothing...yet. I just transferred to your school!" I smiled and hugged him. "That's awesome news! When are you going to start?" "Tomorrow" He said with a smile. Kisumi is my oldest friend but when he moved to a different school I didn't see him as much. Kisumi has redish pinkish hair (for now he always dyes it.) with lavender eyes (for today he wears contacts all the time), tannish complexion and a faint freckles. F.y.I he's been my crush since 6th grade. "So Kisumi what have you been doing?" He answered a few minutes later. "Nothing really just being bored." I giggled and asked. "Wanna go to the café with me?" He smiled and nodded, we both started walking when I got a text from Drake, it said Where are you? And why'd you ditch me? I frowned and texted back I'm walking to the café with my freind. And I didn't ditch you, you were just busy talking to your girlfriend to pay attention. I hit send, turned the sound off and began walking again with Kisumi. "Who was that? Amethyst?" I shook my head and said. "No its a new guy at my school I kinda have feelings for him but I caught him kissing a girl in the music store earlier today and I've been avoiding him since." Kisumi looked at me wide eyed and giggled, then he said. "I never knew you were capable of liking a guy. I thought you would rather not than do." I smiled but it was fake. Does he really think that of me? He really thinks I'm heartless? I look at Kisumi, then looks back to the people in front of us. We stopped walking, I gulped and asked him. "What if I said that I liked you?" I look into his violet eyes, he looks back at me with a shocked look on his face. There was silence but Kisumi broke it when he said. "Oh c'mon Ivy is that a joke? Even I know that you wouldn't feel that way about me!" He giggled a bit but stopped when he saw my face then he asked. "Ivy. You didn't really mean that you..." He didn't finish his sentence. I looked up at him, smiled and said. "No, I was just wondering how you'd act." I look down and feel my heart start to crack and crumble. Kisumi saw my face and asked. "Are you sure that you're OK?" I nodded and said. "Come on let's get to the café before it's rush hour." I faked a smile when I said that, and I think he bought it.
We arrived at the café fifteen minutes later, it was quiet and it looked kinda empty. We ordered our coffee and sat in a booth. Me and Kisumi started to talk about how we've been doing then he asked. "So do you have a boyfriend?" He scooted closer to me when he said that. I almost spit out my tea from laughing. I started to cough and said. "No I still haven't had my first ki-" I cut myself off before I finished that word. Kisumi looked at me shocked and said. "You haven't had your first kiss?!?" I smiled and said. "No, have you?" I lied to my crush/bestfreind, how horrible can I get?
He looked at his soda and blushed then he said. "Uhm I actually haven't. I never found the right girl for it yet."
He seemed pretty embarrassed from saying that, then he s looked at me and said something. "Ivy, were you lying to me when you said you haven't kissed anyone?" I grew stiff and blushed from my nose to my ears. Kisumi found his answer and said. "Who was it?" I told him in a shaky voice and said. "It was James, it was earlier today he told me that he liked me and kissed me." Kisumi looked shocked and said. "Isn't that a good thing?" I said. "No its not good because I don't like him like that and I ran from him he caught me off guard and stole something really precious to me." When I said those last few words I touched my bottom lip with my pointing finger. Kisumi looked at me and said. "Well I think its time for a subject change!" He smiled when he said that which made me smile. Then he said. "So how is your mother?" I looked down and said. "OK I guess, she likes her new boyfriend, house and job so I guess that makes her happy. I live alone now, so I don't really care what she thinks." Kisumi just looked at me and there was silence for a moment then he broke it when he asked. "Uhm Ivy I want to ask you something." I look up and say. "What is it?" "I wanted to ask if I can stay with you?" I blush and nod my head. "Sure, why not there's an extra bed that you can use." He smiled and said. "Thank you Ivy this really means a lot to m-." Kisumi was cut off when Drake and Patricia came to our table. I got up and sat next to Kisumi. Then Drake and Patricia sat next to each other on the other side. It was silent and awkward but then Patricia broke the silence and said. "So who here knows my step brother?" My eyes widened. Step brother!!!!?! What type of step sister kisses her brother!?!?! Drake must've noticed my expression and realized that I saw what happened, then Drake spoke. "Ivy whats up with you you've been acting weird since the Music store." I looked down and stayed silent. Kisumi nudged me and said. "Ivy is it about the store?" Drake looked wide eyed at Kisumi and said. "He knows?!? How come I don't?" I looked at him and said. "Because its about you!" Drake just looked at me straight faced and said. "What was at the music store?" I turn my head and say. "Nothing!" Drake started to get mad then he grabbed my wrist and said. "Tell me please." I faced him and said. "I saw you two holding each other closely and it bothered me so I went out side." I looked down and started to drink my tea. Drake let go of my arm and looked at me, then he said. "Is that why you've been so distant?" I nodded my head, then Drake said. "You know you don't have to be like that Patricia's my friend from grade school."
His....friend, from grade school.... I'm not sure if that makes me feel better. I kept looking down then I felt Kisumi's hand on my shoulder. Then the waitress came and said. "Is there anything that you would like?" Everyone shook their head and Drake said. "No, we were going to leave right now." Me and Kisumi got up, Drake and Patricia followed and we left the café. It was quiet for a while but then Kisumi broke the silence when he said. "So do you guys wanna sit at the beach?" "Isn't it a bit cold for that?" I say while raising an eyebrow.
Kisumi laughs, then Drake says. "Yeah then we could just sit and hang out." "It'll be fun let's go!" Patricia says with a huge smile. I sighed and we started walking towards the beach. We arrived there after about 15 minutes, I took off my shoes and socks and stepped in the sand. I rolled up my pants to just below my knee. It felt weird for a moment but I got used to it and kept walking, everyone else took off there shoes and followed. I put my stuff on a rock about ten feet away from where the waves reach. Everyone sat down near the rock and started to talk about what music they listen to and what their hobbies are and what not. I kept walking to the waves and walked in the water, it was a little cold but I got used to it and walked to my right towards the pier. I walked under it and there was a rock that was high enough that it won't get hit by the water but it was in it. I ran back to my bag, Drake and Patricia looked at me like I was crazy when I grabbed my camera out if my bag, tripped and ran towards the rock. They all followed, I climbed on a rock and jumped from rock to rock until I got to it. I stood and looked through the camera. I knelt down and took a picture. In the picture you saw the water crashing over a rock, the water fanned out around it. In the background the sun was setting and you could see some birds in the background. I took a few more and jumped back to the shore. Kisumi ran up to me and said. "Let me see the picture! I want to know what it looks like." I showed them and Drake and Patricia looked at it with gaping mouths and wide eyes. "Nice, its almost as good as the one with the girl riding her bike." Kisumi said smiling. "Thanks." I said while smiling, I walked back to my bag to put it away when I noticed how dark it was getting, I put my camera away and put my socks and shoes on. "Come on Kisumi its getting dark, bye Drake, bye Patricia. See you tomorrow." I said while walking off with Kisumi. I don't think I heard a reply but I heard something that came from in back of me. I quickly turn around but no one's there, I saw something on the floor. It was a peach conch shell and attached to it was a note, it said Please meet me at fountain. ~J
"Oh god..." I mumbled. "What?" Kisumi said and turned around. I quickly hid the shell and note behind my back. "No it was nothing." I said while smiling, we started walking home again. When we got home it was almost completely dark, I made an excuse to go out real fast. "Kisumi I'll be back I have to go get something I'll be back." I said and a few seconds later Kisumi answered. "OK. Oh uhm Ivy!" "Yeah?" I say getting my shoes on. "Be safe OK?" I nodded my head and left my home.
In a few minutes I made it to the fountain, it was quiet, too quiet. I sat on the edge of the fountain and got lost in my thoughts. I wonder who invited me to the fountain? The sarcasm was mostly emphasized on WHO. I wonder why he invited me here. Hopefully he doesn- My thoughts were interrupted when I saw someone walking towards me. It was too dark to see who it was but he was holding some thing.
