Rainbow Quest || Light/Shy Steve's Pov

Chapter 7 - The Awkard day

First view- Yellow Scout.

I unfolded the clothes the Orange Apprentice threw me. Honestly i was surprised he found something to actually somewhat probably fit me.

I just shook it off changing into those clothes. It was somewhat Orange but i saw he tried to find something mire brown and yellow to try and make me more comfortable which i found amusing to say the least. Especially for how the shirt looked. Orange Steves truly are amazing when it comes to outfit choices.

I soon folded my clothes and put them down with the armor pieces as well before pulling the sleeves up and going the latter to see him just be invested in a book while curled up on the couch.

"I am done now."

I told him and he looked up a bit with his eyes to just look at me giving me a shy smile before saying.

"I hope it doesn't bother you that the clothes are bigger then expected.. uhm.. we usually are pretty tall as you can see."

He laughed awkwardly as he put a book mark in the book before shutting it and putting it on the side table patting the spot next to himself awkwardly.

I walked next to him and sat down it was an eerie silence between the two of us. I haven't really talked with other colored steves unless on business and from his name i can tell his shy. The Orange Steves usually using the emotion they feel the most as their name so it's easier for them. It's pretty smart. But we don't usually do that and just use different clothing or more based names on our rank to separate each others from one another.

I then suddenly heard the other mumble out loud towards me.

"So.. how did you exactly stumble upon the Orange Village just in time?.."

I thought for a bit before saying.

"The Nightmare King. It should be enough to guess. But well as i am one of the fastest running scouts i got sent as an order from the King from the Nightmare King for me to check it out as quickly as i could. I stumbled upon your village because of a few Orange Steves getting chased by darkness. They pointed me in this direction and i managed to be just in time."

I stumbled a bit on my words with a bit of a ramble as it's not really easy to explain what you get sent into especially if a personal mission.

"Oh.. wow.. necessarily that's pure luck. We probably would've gotten infected if you didn't show up in time."

The Shy steve spoke quietly as he fiddled around with his fingers while his Orange hair glowed a bit in the sunlight meanwhile he was wearing sone simple clothes which where a bit dirtied with either dirt or things that stuck on from building. He looked a bit towards me and i quickly detracted my view off of him.

"So.. why did you become apprentice and when exactly?.. I don't remember the Orange Leader really getting one."

I questioned him as I raised an eyebrow i heard shuffling as the steve curled up a bit more.

"I.. uhm.. I became the apprentice two days ago a bit before the darkness attacked.. and mostly just because it wouldn't really differ from what i do most of the time.. w-which is helping the Leader."

He mumbled out with a few stutters here and there barely noticeable if you didn't pay attention to his words clearly enough to hear.

"That's nice. Becoming an apprentice must be a chore especially with a radiant village like this one."

"Quite is.. i can tell you that.."

He mumbled quietly out.

Third view

After awhile the Steves voices quieted down as one fell asleep meanwhile the other was reading out if a story slowly dozing off themselves before falling asleep themselves as well. The next morning it was an awkward one to say for the both as both woke up soon after another by the yelling of Orange Steves which was an alarm for them both. As the yellow one soon went to change and the other went ahead and started making breakfast as to keep his mind off things. He had to admit it was interesting everything that just happened.

After the Yellow Steve came down the Orange one was already munching away on the sandwich he made and he offered a plate to the Yellow Steve happily a bit before giving a smile and finishing the sandwich and going upstairs to change as well.

First view- Shy

I changed quickly before pulling my glove and my hat on before grabbing my tool belt and tightened it around myself and I jumped down the latter not really caring to use it making the other steve in the house choke a bit on his food because of the loud noise.

He soon looked at me and i just awkwardly looked at him with a smile saying.

"S-sorry about that.."

I laughed a bit as I looked away to not face the awkwardness in this air of this room. He did the same from what i saw before finishing his food as well.

"I would like to speak with your Leader if i can by now?"

"A-ah.. yea. We can probably go now. Through I won't exactly be able to insist you or anything."

I muttered the last part before going ahead and grabbing his hand quickly to avoid more awkwardness and i walk out of the house quickly.

"I- uhm- hh.. eh?"

The yellow steve questioned a bit but soon just gave up after not being able to form words out for an actual question. So he just shut up letting himself be dragged by the Orange steve to his own leaders house. Where i said.

"Here. Just be careful even the Leader has a hard time with mornings."

I whispered the last sentence in the yellow steves ear before walking off cheerfully a bit.
