The Insomniac// Avengers Fanfiction

Chapter 2

Y/N POV

People started filling in at around 7 o clock. First was Steve after training and getting ready for the day. He immediately started making breakfast as per usual. Next was Sam and Bucky at around 7:30 with Bruce following suit at 8:00 and the rest trickling in until 9. By then food was ready and all the avengers were seated except Loki and Carol who were both off world.

There was an array of pancakes, waffles, eggs toast bacon and juices. Quite a lot as there were 2 super soldiers, Peter, with his enhanced metabolism, a god and about 6 full grown adults with very healthy appetites.

Conversation was as per usual. Tony and Bruce were talking about some science-y things with Peter commenting every few minutes. Steve and Bucky were talking about the good old days as Thor recounted tales of battles to Nat and Sam. While Wanda was probably just listening to minds. I was listening to nobody in particular, as always. Kind of just drifting from conversation to conversation.

When I first got here and was told that Wanda could read minds I made sure to re enforce the wall around my mind even more. None of them knew anything about me. No one but Fury. He had shield investigate a suspicious fire after the police could find no cause. He recruited me to become one of his agents and I happily obliged.

So this is where I have been since the fire nobody knew I caused at 12 years old. I am now 21 my birthday is May 4th so in a couple weeks. No one on the team knew that. They only knew my name and my powers.

Only Fury knew about your sleeping too and that was because he caught you up at 1:30am when you were 13 and started asking questions. Whenever he was here he made sure to try his best to get you to sleep and respected you decision to not tell the team.

"So Y/N what were you doing up so early this morning" Steve asked me

"What are you talking about" Tony asked

"I came into the training room this morning and ran into Y/N who was already there"

By now everyone has stopped talking and were looking at you. You could feel Wanda trying to enter your mind and blocked her out more.

"Oh I just woke up earlier than usual and went to train a bit. I was only there for half an hour before Steve came in" I lied. Well partly lied

"Oh ok" Tony said as everyone went back to their food

With that you continued to eat as well. As breakfast finished you silently put away your dish and made your way back to your room for a while.

Natasha POV

I woke up this morning hearing noise coming from Y/N's room. I looked over to the clock to see it read 3:00am. What the fuck is she doing up at 3 am I thought. I heard her leave her room and went back to sleep.

I woke up again at 5am and assumed that Y/N had just come back. It wasn't that early so I got ready for the day. I came out of my room just as Y/N was coming out of theirs. She looked at me and blushed as I smirked at her. She mumbled a sorry and we walked off to the elevator.

I was behind her when she went to the kitchen and started talking to her. I was a little confused about why she had been up so early but she side stepped the question so I dropped it. We sat in a comfortable silence until Steve came in to start breakfast with the others tricking in later.

During breakfast Steve asked her why she was up so early and she again side stepped the question. I was getting more and more confused about it. So I made a mental note to ask JARVIS about it later. She quickly and quietly left to her room after that no one else seemed to have noticed.

It was while we were sitting there that I realized we new close to nothing about this girl. Fury introduced her at the beginning of February but other that her name and powers she was a stranger to me. So I asked the team about it.

"Hey what do you guys know about Y/N"

"What do you mean Nat" Bruce asked

"I mean I just realized that me and Bruce are closest with her and we still know shit about her" I replied

"That's true and whenever I ask her a question about her she makes it about me" Tony says

"I'm gonna ask JARVIS what he knows about her."

With that I left the room and headed to my office. The walls in my room are thin and if Y/N doesn't want to tell us I probably shouldn't ask where she can hear me.
