Chapter 10

Tony POV

I hadn't seen Y/N since last night, and Nat since breakfast. I felt really bad about yelling at her. I didn't mean to scare her. I went back to my workshop after breakfast to take a crack at JARVIS. He knows something and I want to know what that is.

I went through his database to see some protocols and changes that I didn't make. I tried to go deeper into it but the closer I got the more fire walls and codes went up. I was smart and I mean really smart, but even I couldn't get through these.

All day I was in that room trying and trying to de code and hack JARVIS. My own creation and I couldn't. Whatever it was that's in here she really doesn't want us to see it. Time flew bye and I couldn't get in. Next thing I know its 9 pm and I had gotten nowhere.

In order to do this I needed sleep. I walked up to my room to see Pepper just getting into bed. She had a lot to do tomorrow so she was in earlier than usual.

"You coming to sleep?" She asked surprised

"Yea. I felt really bad about Y/N. Plus she put up some protocols in JARVIS so I spent all day trying to hack them and couldn't" I explain to Pepper while getting in beside her.

"You're telling me that you couldn't get into your own AI and was bested by someone almost half your age" Pepped said with a laugh.

"Ha ha very funny. But I seriously need to get in" I state

"Didn't Fury bring this girl in."

"Yea so."

"Well then whatever it is is probably nothing. Plus if you care that much ask him about her"

"Alright. I'll talk with the team about it tomorrow." With that we both went to sleep. It was surprisingly I peaceful night with no nightmares.

Y/N POV

The night was finally over. I was probably going to stay in my room all day just like yesterday. Nat would probably come bring me food and even if she didn't I can and have gone several days without a hint of food.

Nat POV

I woke up in my bed. I knew I hadn't fallen asleep in my room last night so someone must have carried me here. Probably Wanda. I got ready for the day and walked downstairs. It was around 7 am. Breakfast was already on the table with no sign of Y/N anywhere which was expected. Suddenly Tony came in looking pissed.

"What killed your mood this morning Stark" Clint joked

"Shut the fuck up Barton" Was all he got in reply

"Whoa just calm down. what happened?" Steve asked calmly

"That girl is a literal genius. and as much as I hate to say it. She may be smarter than me." He said mumbling the last part.

Everyone stared at each other in pure surprise. Never had Tony ever said anyone was even as close to his smarts let alone smarter than him.

"Explain please" I asked

"I was looking through JARVIS like Nat asked me to. when I came across some protocols and coding I hadn't put in place. I tried all day and got nowhere. absolutely nothing" Tony said looking down

"What. you got nowhere." I say trying to keep calm.

"Yea. I talked to Pepper about it and decided to ask Fury about it."

"Ask me about what." A new voice says. Everyone immediately scrambled up to look at the director. There was Fury, in his usual black trench coat and eye patch to match.

"Nothing, nothing" Tony hurriedly said

"JARVIS what was Tony going to ask me" Fury asked the AI knowing that it would tell him

"Mr. Stark wants to know all about Y/N. She has changed some of my protocols and Mr. Stark is unable to get passed them. He hoped you could help with that Director Fury." JARVIS said

'snitch' Tony mumbled while looking at the director. Fury swiftly turned around and we all followed him to the common room. We all sat down as he took to the front.

"Get Y/N down here. If we're having this conversation she should probably be here." Fury said to me.

"Yea small problem. Y/N hasn't come out of her room since yesterday night and wont be coming out of her room for a while." I reply glancing at Tony

"What did you Idiots do."

"Nothing nothing" Stark says as the rest of us sigh knowing that wasn't going to work.

I quickly walk over to Fury and whisper in his ear what happened. He probably already knew what Y/N did to her room. He looked like he was about to explode. You could see the pure anger in his eye as he looked at Tony. Who suddenly found his shoes very interesting.

Fury gave us barely anymore information than he did when she first came. Just telling us that she was very smart and had never been tested but probably had a very high IQ. He also said that she would tell us whatever it was she was hiding and to trust her.

With that he walked out of the room probably to go talk to Y/N and coax her out of her room. When he left we all slowly left the room soon leaving only Tony and I alone.

"I really didn't mean to do anything Nat." He says

"I know but don't tell that to me. Go and talk to Y/N about it. She thinks you hate her and its crushing her."

With that I left the room going down the hall to watch Pietro, Peter, Sam, and Clint play video games and scream at each other waiting for Tony to get up and talk to her.
