The Insomniac// Avengers Fanfiction

Chapter 25

Y/N POV

The party was right after the event which was in the late evening. There was a hour break in between since people had to get there. Plus they always set out the alcohol right before for some reason so Tony needed to do that.

Since there was an hour free I went straight to my room. It had been a while since I had organized my mind and there were new memories to store. Before I could escape to my sanctuary Steve called me into the common room. Everyone one was sitting there except Pepper. She had some things to do.

"We wanted to talk to you about missions" Steve started

"You have very advanced training that could be used well on the field" Nat continued

"Fury cleared you  and we think you're ready for your first mission" Tony ends

"Tomorrow you go on a mission with Nat, Bucky, Wanda, Steve and I.  We found a smaller base in Florida. We need to infiltrate and grab as much data from them as possible. More information tomorrow." Clint said.

I smiled a real smile my first genuine face hurting smile I wasn't really the type to jump up and down squealing so I just stood up said Thank you and walked to my room

They didn't mention anything about a suit so this is probably a test run. They wanted to see how well I fought with the team so I hoped I would do well.

I went up to my room and switched the look. I needed a suit and all my real clothes were here. I didn't have my new suit finished yet so I brought out my old one. It was the same as Nat's with a few more personal touches. Less guns and knives since I had my powers but more protection from the extreme cold or heat.

I have some very special knives and guns in a drawer that I made. The knives had very intricate detail on the handles which I loved. I only brought two handguns which I had made to be able to hold ice and fire bullets.

I set everything up and laid it in my closet. There was still 45 minutes left so I decided to let everyone see my room.

I called everyone into the hall in front of my room and split them all into groups. There were only so many people I could fit in my room at a time and I wanted to be safe. It took a while but everyone had seen and that was one more thing I didn't have to worry about. All the reactions were positive. I told Tony more about the mechanisms that I used to do this. Bruce was impressed that nobody noticed that I was doing this.

Everything was done by party time. There were only a few guests at the moment and I was already feeling nervous. I sat down on one of the couches near the balcony doors. From my angle I could see basically everyone as they came in.

Soon the party was full of life. Every celebrity and the City was here. although none approached me I could see the others were approached.Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, Trevor Noah all of them were there trying to get as close to an Avenger as possible. I saw Nat talking with some girl at the bar and immediately felt jealous. I looked away and not 10 minutes later I saw someone sit beside me.

" Are you enjoying the party?" Nat asks as she hands me a drink. "Wasn't sure what you liked so I just got you some red wine. "

"Oh I don't drink but thank you" I responded. Slight memories of my father drinking flashed in my mind for a second before disappearing.

"The party's ok" I reply "no ones come and try to talk to me wich is good."

"Well now I'm here to talk with you." She replies with a smile. I smile back as I look at her.

"Are you excited for tomorrow? First mission" She asks

"Yea I guess. I just hope I don't mess up" I reply honestly

"Don't worry you're good at fighting. You'll do just fine" She reassures

"Ok. If you say so"

"I do." She says "I know you'll do great" she puts a hand over mine and squeezes it while looking into my eyes. Does she like me?

This one is a lot shorter than my other ones. I just wanted to get this chapter out and try to finish the book as quickly as I can.
