Scales of Azure
lanky, haggard, confused –yet
intrigued, naive
he walks through smudged infested
doors –hesitates.“she is here,” the clerk
– shriveled, leathery, female –
creaks “take her.”a heavy plastic bag,
pregnant with water
fiercely tied.
a minute green fish dances
then stops – stares.at home,
she is deposited in over sized
fish tank,
naked without decorations.
she floats in midair.time causes her to swell,
she is no longer green,
her face and fins a peachy fuzz,
burgundy spine,
tail scales of azure.one night, he wakes to splashing
and sloshing.
crack! mini eruptions of waves.
Wet fibers squishes between his toes
as light flicks upon his command.wiggling on matted carpet,
half sapien, half marine
she gazes at him–
exposed peachy chest
disheveled burgundy locks
tail scales of azure.
