Of course I was the girl to fall in the doorway of health class, but when I fell today it was different. Instead of me just falling and everyone laughing at me.. somehow Sean was right there as I fell. He let me fall. What a nice jerk. But he helped me up after I did. Which again shocked everyone. Because what's the popular good-looking jock doing helping me? That is a question I cannot solve. And it really confuses me, to be quite honest.
When I got home mom had left a note on the counter. "Went to the grocery store. Had to get food to make dinner. We are having company tonight so freshen up and look nice." Great! More people I have to be the perfect daughter around. I'm probably going top eat dinner then sit in my room and only come out when she wants to bragg about me. Just like she did last time we had company. 6:30 pm the doorbell rings. "Anna will you please answer that?" She calls. I answer thew door then immediatly cling to it. I think I might pass out. Its Sean and his family.
After greeting them I try to escape back into my room but mom calls me. CRAP. I make my way back into the living room. Sean looks almost as shocked as I am. Then Sam comes out of her room. Thank you. I mutter to her. She always has a way of saving my sorry butt. We offer to go in the kitchen and finish cooking so she could visit but of course Sam needs to stay and visit with the adults and I am sent to show Sean around the house.
I am now showing him my room and he walks in and just looks at me. My heart starts beating uncontrolably. I am crazy nervous and I need to get out of this small spaced room fast. But he starts to open his mouth to speak so I am stuck. In the start of a conversation and I don't really care to find out where it's going to go. But I have to be a polite host, so I let him speak. "You have a really nice home." He says kindly. "Thank you" I respond not sure how to keep the conversation going.
"I didn't mean to let you fall today. I'm sorry." He says
"It's okay" I say back. I really want this conversation to end becuase I don't want to be alone in this room with him. My secrets are in here and the fact that a guy I don't even honestly know this guy really scares me that he will use them against me. He doesn't do anything though. He stands there and just looks at me. Not in a judgmental way but almost as if he's admiring me. No.. He's not. I must be dreaming. I'm not though.
I snap out of my daze when mom calls for us to come and eat dinner. She has sort of a worried look on her face when she sees that we were in my room, alone with no one else. But her look immediatly vanishes when she sees him a good distance away from me. He doesn't talk to me the rest of the night.
