"Will you loosen up a bit?" (Y/B/F/N) asked as she danced to the music that band was playing.
I usually didn't like going to clubs and getting drunk or partying. I like more calm and relaxing events. But it's (Y/B/F/N)'s birthday so I knew coming with her tonight would make her happy.
I was enjoying the music, the only dancing I was doing was slightly bobbing my head to the music, swaying along and tapping my foot to the beat.
I watched the singer as he performed. I knew him a little bit. His name was Gabe, he was kind of easy in the eyes, he had a great voice. We went to high school together but we didn't interact much.
As the song ended, Gabe looked through the crowd and his eyes landed on me. I smiled and gave him a small wave. He grinned and announced that the band would be taking a small break. I watched as Gabe hopped off stage and made his way through the crowd over to me.
"Someone's interested in you." (Y/B/F/N) observed, playfully. "I'll be at the bar if you need me."
Just as she walked away, Gabe was right next to me. "I never would've expected to see you here." He said.
I shrugged. "Yeah, I know. But it's my friend's birthday today so I'm here for her."
"Well, I'm happy your here." Gabe said. "I've been kinda wanting to see you."
"You have?" I smirked. "Now that we adult, your suddenly interested in me?"
"Maybe. I don't know what I was thinking in high school. I wished I talked to you." Gabe nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "I've been wanting to tell you something."
"Gabe breaks over." Nate, Gabe's brother and band mate called out to him.
"Excuse me." Gabe left but he then turned over his shoulder. "I hope you like this next song."
As Gabe and his brother hopped back onstage, the crowd gathered back, excited for another performance.
"I wanna dedicate this next song to a special girl and she knows who she is." Gabe said into the mic. "But this is what I wanted to tell you."
As Nate started playing, I recognize the tune a little but it wasn't until Gabe started singing that I realized the song was "Fallin' for You" by Colbie Caillat. As he sang, Gabe's eyes never left mine.

I became so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice when the song ended. No one had ever done anything like this for me. Gabe looked me when the final note was played and I smiled at him. Gabe and Nate played a few more songs before taking another break and Gabe came and found me again.
"Did you like it?" He asked.
I smiled, slyly. "Maybe." I handed him a piece of paper. "Call me some time and find out."
Gabe smiled and slipped the paper into his pocket. It was getting pretty late, so we said goodnight and I went and found (Y/B/F/N) and we headed out, and for once I was thankful she had convinced me to go out.
