Also wanna say this cause I said it in another book but just in case some of you didn't see it there, Also I wanna say that I'm probably gonna write using "she" and "her" since I'm a girl and that's juat how my brain works and wants to write. Just a heads up so if you want the reader to be male when you request, let me know.

(Your POV)

A couple of months had passed since I was hired. In that time, I had developed great relationships with everyone. Mat was quite impressed with my skills and I was happy to be working for him.

I was editing the latest video when my phone rang. I looked at the called id and my heart nearly lept feom my chest. It was my dad. I hesitated to answer but I forced myself.

"Hello?" I said, apprehensively.

"(Y/N), get you ass home right now!" My dad yelled.

"I am home." I told him. "I have a job."

"That's not a real job and that is not your home. Quit your stupid job and get your fucking ass home right now!"

I quickly hung up, as tears began running down my face. I creid for a few minutes before I collect myself and did my best to finish the video. I remembered I had closed the door and I gave a silent thank you that no one heard me.

(Mat's POV)

What had happened between (Y/N) and her dad? I pulled my ear away from the door, letting my hands fall to my sides as I made my way to the living room. I knew something was going on. (Y/N) would always say "I'm fine" or "It's nothing" but those lies could only cover up so much but not the whole truth.

"Hey, Mat."

I looked up to meet my friend, Amy. She shared my concerns as did everyone. I wanted to know more, to help (Y/N) but how can I help her when I don't know the full story? I have work to do but suddenly an idea came to mind.

"Hey Amy, do you wanna help me with something?"

Amy nodded. "What do you need?"

"Can you try and get some information on (YN) and possibly her dad?" I asked. "I feally want to help her but she won't open tell us anything."

"I know. I wanna help her too." Amy replied, putting a hand on my shoulder. "I'll see what I can uncover."

I thanked her and proceeded to my office to work. A couple of hours passed, when Amy came to me in the middle of me writting a script.

"Mat,"She said. "you need to see this."

I got up and followed her to (Y/N)'s room. We walked over to her desk and Amy pointed to a small black sketchbook. I looked down and felt my heart break. On the page was a drawing of a crying girl. She was sitting and by the way her clothes were drawn, she was meant to be homeless. Across the girl's eyes was a ribbon that read "worthless" and across her chest was another ribbon that read "broken".

I shook my head and ran a hand through my hair. "We have to help her."

I gathered Amy and Steph and we began investigating. We looked at any documents and spoke to any person that would tell is something. After a while we eventually figured out that (Y/N)'s parents had divorced when she was fifteen and that she had lived with her mother. But lately she's been living with her father ever since her mother died a few years ago. We spoke to some of their neighbors who told us they would often hear loud noise and crying, screams coming from their house.

We gathered our evidence. It was time to fix this.

(Your POV)

I was finishing the video when I heard a knock at the door. I ran to open it and what was before me was something I certainly didn't expect. Two cops were at the door with my father in handcuffs.

"Are you (Y/F/N) (Y/L/N)?" The first cop asked.

"Yes." I answered. I heard light footsteps behind me and turned to see Mat, Steph and Amy. "What's this about?"

The second cop turned to Mat. "May I see your evidence, sir?"

Mat nodded and handed him a folder with some documents and a small flash drive. "We're placing your father under arrest for multiple accounts of domestic violence. The court will deal with the custody papers and there will be a restraining order."

I brought my hand to my mouth. Was this actually happening? My father never spoke a word or looked at me. He kept his eyes on the ground. The police spoke to us for a few more minutes before they took my father away.

I turned around. "You guys did this?"

Mat nodded. "We found your sketchbook. We wanted to help you so we took matters into our own hands."

I smiled and hugged the three of them. I was finally free. My dad couldn't harm me. I could live my life how I wanted.

My life was finally put back together.
