"I WON AGAIN AHAHAHAH" you said joyfully for maybe the 10th time now.
"Cheater" he said while pouting lightly.
"Gonna cry again?",
"Crying? Can't remember that I cried because I lost against you."
"Why are you so annoyed then?" You laughed about him, Ni-ki, your childhood best friend.

You have known each other for a very long time. You would literally talk about anything and you don't have any secrets. Just one thing you never could tell him was that you secretly fell for him.
He's the only one in your mind and your heart beats faster by only giving him one thought. 
But of course, he never noticed and you never told him.
But it's like you're used to it. Used to the dumb boy who never noticed it. You won't even tell him, too afraid of rejection and losing the only one you love the most in this world.

'Why did I fall for you? I'm so dumb' you always thought. You hated not being able to choose for whom you fall in love but had to fall for the boy that saw you as nothing more than a friend.

He noticed that something was off, he noticed how thoughtful you looked. "Are you alright?" He asked.
"Huh? Ah.. uhm.. yes of course" you forced a smile. 
He looked at you for some time. 
Your heart raced like crazy.

'Why is he looking like that?' You thought.
It's the first time that you saw this expression on him. You wanted to say something to break the silence but he suddenly grabbed your hand and pressed his palm against yours before entwining your fingers together.

Your hands were sweaty.

"Tell me, what's up?" he asked.
"It doesn't matter," You simply Said. 
"It matters." He spoke softly.

Then he pressed his forehead against yours. The tips of your noises brushing against each other slightly.
"It matters to me," he said.

You could have passed out by now. But this is just him and his daily actions.
"Really?" You asked shyly, cheeks hotter than ever.
"Y/n" he said slowly. His breath on your lips. You wanted to kiss him so badly. You were mesmerized by his beautiful face. His long lashes. His soft looking lips. You wanted to caress his cheeks. 
"Y/n" he said again, more softly this time.

"We are friends right?" He smiled.

..

You couldn't answer him and pulled yourself away.
He tilted his head looking at you with big eyes.

"I guess" you said, holding back your tears. 
"it's just that you were sad that I won.. so I was sad too, you know, because... I mean I'm sad when you're sad . Somehow..I..I.." you blabber, not very clearly.
"Ahh you're something!" He interrupted you, smiling widely.
He just sat on your bed comfortably again.
You could have punched him. How can someone be that dumb? And how come that you fell in love with someone like him?

"I'll confess to her tomorrow," he suddenly said, interrupting your thoughts.. 
"Huh?"
"The confession. You forgot?" 
"Ah that girl you love" yup, you almost forgot, or wanted to forget. The girl he always observed from a corner at school. The girl he always wanted to sit next to, but couldn't, because her friends would obviously sit next to her. The girl he always wanted to speak to, but was too shy to even smile at her. 

He loves her and you hate it.

"Yes, confess to her. I'll support you" you said giving him a halfhearted smile. 
"Ahhh.. I'll.. but do you know how hard it is? You never felt something like this Y/n" 
"Huh? Who said that I've never had feelings for someone?"
"If so, you would tell me you idiot"

'Ahh.. sure' you thought.

He smiled at you. 
"You know what?" He asked
Your attention fully on him.
"Maybe I shouldn't plan it. Maybe it would be better, if it's spontaneous. Maybe.. I should confess today!"
"What?! Today? Are you sure? I mean don't you need preparation and something like.. umm...-"

" I love you ".

Silence. 
Time has stopped for you.
"W-what?" You asked.

" I love you " he repeats. 

Your heart raced so fast you were afraid that it would jump out of your chest, but more afraid of him hearing it. But why should you care about it now? your love just confessed to you. He loved you probably as much as you did love him, right?
Is it actually true? Was it this easy?
"Ni-ki.. I don't know what to say.. I'm just..I lo-"

Suddenly a laugh resounded. Ni-ki's laugh.
"Calm down y/n. You should have seen your shocked face. It was hilarious," he said in between his laughs. "I was just practicing so don't worry. I'm still your best friend." He winked at you. 

You on the other hand were more than confused right now. Your heart stopped beating and you couldn't move. You hated him right now for breaking your heart just like that without even knowing what he just did to you. You hated him and wanted nothing but just to cry. And he wasn't even aware of what he was doing to you.

"You asshole" you murmured tears near to fall.
"Huh? What did you say" 

Ni-ki saw your expression and immediately regretted his actions.
"Oh my god, y/n! I'm so sorry! I didn't want to shock you like this! You know we are best friends and-"
"Just shut up," you said. He didn't know what to do so he stood silent.
"You are really that dumb, aren't you?" You asked him suddenly. He still kept silent. 

Suddenly you started to laugh. A halfhearted laugh "you jerk" you said. He was completely confused now. 

But there was no hope. You had to let go.

"Go" you told him "Go and confess now. And I swear to you, when you do something like this again, I'm gonna kill you" and with that, he walked away with a smile plastered on his face to confess to her love. 
'Go.. You deserve to be in love. Dumbass. I hope you'll be happy.' Tears began to fall.
