Heeseung's p.o.v.

Summer. It's warm. It was past midnight when I came home from my daily walking routine through our city. I would always walk the same route at this time of the day to free my mind of all negative thoughts. Looking at the sea and it's beauty through the shining moon all over it. It's silent, no birds, no cars, no kids.

Silent.

Arriving home I take a hot shower till I feel the water burning on my skin. After that, I switch on the TV and watch the 'Talking Show' where this one guy talks about everything that the audience requests. Then people call or visit him and they start to discuss different topics. It's interesting to see people talking about those things and seeing other perspectives who show you your worth and the beauty of the world before I go to bed and start another day of negativity and loneliness.

"I'm sorry, okay?" I said turning off the TV after the show.

It's really warm today.

I went to the kitchen to eat an apple before I went to sleep, as always.
I got the knife and the apple and cut it into two pieces. I ate one piece and left the other one on the white plate with pink roses on.
"Why are you so silent?" I asked, turning around and making my way to my bedroom.

I closed my eyes, drifting in the dark into the world of dreams.
I hear nothing. Just my breath.
I see nothing. Just the darkness.
I feel nothing. Just emptiness.
"Why are you doing this to me?"

Why can't I let you go.

I open my eyes.
11am.
Time to get up.
I threw the blanket away and a sudden shiver overtook me.
It's cold.
I smile.
"Did you forgive me?" I asked, getting up from bed and walking to the bathroom. After getting ready I went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked after noticing that the piece of Apple is still untouched.
A cold breeze overwhelmed me.
"Okay I'll make pancakes. Your favourite" I said, smiling to myself the whole time while preparing.

"Where were you last night?" I asked, feeling unsure if I should ask at all.
No comment.
"I just have Orange juice at home. Is it okay?".
Cold breeze. It should be okay.

Finishing up, I put the plates and the juices on the table and made myself comfortable while noticing the Apple which was still there.
"Won't you talk with me about it?"
Nothing.
I sat there still, waiting for an answer but nothing. So I started to eat. I finished my plate and stared over to the other plate. Still untouched.
"Are you still mad?"
Nothing, again.
"I'm going to work. Better eat up before I come home." I was a bit strict. "I don't want you to get ill".
And with my last words, I left.

I got a present. A necklace with a bird on it. I saw it and my first thought was her.
"Those are nice," I said to the florist. She smiled at me and prepared the bunch of flowers I got.
"Girlfriend?" She asked.
I laughed "no, no. My wife"

Arriving at home after my walking routine around the sea I immediately walked to the kitchen to look if the plate was empty.
It wasn't.
"Are you serious? What did I tell you?" I said furious. "You know what? Fine. Here" I threw the flowers and the necklace to the floor and stormed to the bathroom taking a shower.
I took a cold one, so cold that I began to tremble. So cold that I had goosebumps.
"WHY DON'T YOU TALK TO ME?" I screamed.
And I began to cry.

11am.
Time to get up again..
Throwing the blanket away, I felt nothing. It was warm.

I finished up and headed to the kitchen.
The flowers and the present were on the ground, the pancakes on the plate looking not that delicious anymore and the Apple head brown parts already.

I sighed wanting to tidy up slowly when the door rang.
I walked over slowly. I wasn't in the mood to welcome guests, I don't want anybody to visit me today.
Or any day.

I opened the door and was surprised by Jungwon and Jake.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" they screamed in union, smiling widely and getting in without my permission. I smile slightly scratching the back of my head not knowing what to do.
"What are you doing here?" I ask bluntly.
"It's your birthday we're going to celebrate it with you"
Oh sure. My birthday.
"I have work today I can't-"
"No, you're free today," Jungwon said with pride written all over his face.
"But-"," no buts! Go and get ready. Wear something comfortable" Jake said. I smiled a bit unsure but accepted it.

Changing my clothes I felt a cold breeze. I turned around seeing no one. Hearing no one.
"I'll be back" I whispered.
Without getting back to the kitchen to clean the mess I went straight to the living room so we could leave. I will clean the mess I caused later.
"Let's go!" Hijikata said excitedly. I smiled "Yeah, let's go".

"I knowww~ our Heeseung hyung is the cutestttt tsundere out there uwuwuwwuwu"
"Stop it Jake"
"But it's true uwuwuwuwu~"
I laughed. He drank too much.
"Especially when" he stopped for a minute, "when you asked Y/n out".

Silence.

"Jake hyung, you should stop that. Why would you talk about that now?" Jungwon said a bit stern.

Looking up at Jungwon, his eyes were focused on the sea. "It's unbelievable what happened," he said after a while of silence. "Heeseung hyung, I can imagine how you felt these last 2 years. I can imagine how it is to lose someone. It's not your fault. You know, you always keep saying those stuff like-"
"I got it Jungwon. Thanks" I said a bit coldly and looked away.
I felt his gaze on me.

"Do you still see her?".
I can't breath.

"Heeseung hyung, you said months ago that you still see her. You know you should go to the therapist again. It's not healthy and-".
My Vision turns black.

"We all want the best for you!"
Stop it.

"Heeseung hyung, I have to tell you this. Everything you seem to see is not real-"
"STOP". I said, hitting the table with my fist.
My breath got heavier.
"I'm going home" I said while standing up.
"Hyung! We want the best for you" Jungwon said after me.

"When do you want to tell him?"
"Tell him what?"
"When he arrives at home he will think Y/n did that".
"And?".
"It's your fault that he thinks that she is still in that house. You manipulate him. Putting the flower and the present next to the Apple and the pancakes? Why would you do that again after months?"
"Stop it Jungwon. I know it's not good but we started this and we're going to end it somehow. It's the best that he thinks she's with him in his bad times"
"No Jake Hyung! It's been 2 years already and he is getting worse! We have to tell him that nothing of Y/n is there anymore!".
"We won't."
"but-"
"trust me Jungwon. He has to let go on his own".

"I'm home" I said entering the door. I walked straight to my bedroom when I gazed a bit into the kitchen.
All the things I got her were on the table. I smiled.

"Is that my present? Are you really giving me gifts I got you?" I said laughing this time.
"Thank you".

Cold breeze. Out of nowhere I heard a hum.
Hers. The melody she would always hum when she's happy. I hear it in my head with her voice. It's like a dream.
And she sings.
And she touches me.
I can't see her but I can feel it. So I hold her, imagining her beautiful ocean blue eyes, dancing in slow motion.
The melody got louder.

"Thank you Y/n, for everything. I'm always walking the way we walked the last time. And I end up watching the sea and its beauty. The place where you left".
I can only hear her singing voice.
And I hold her tighter.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't let you go all this time. But now I do". I said. I felt the wetness on my cheek.

I feel her hand on it.
"I love you".
And she left. This time forever.
And everything dies away.
