Eight|Up All Night

The Infinities? Who is that? Like another W.I.C.K.E.D? Questions floated around in Newt's mind, probably the same for everyone else. They brought Thomas and Theresa to the Med-Jacks and so far, they're both alive. Everyone, except for Newt and Cosette, left to sleep. Newt's eye lids were starting to get heavy as well but he didn't mind staying with Cosette.

"Who do you think The Infinities are?" Cosette spoke, breaking the silence.

"Not quite sure, I'm thinking it's something like-" He paused. "Does she know about W.I.C.K.E.D? He asked himself. It didn't take long for Cosette to end his sentence though.

"W.I.C.K.E.D?"

"Y-yeah. How did you-"

"I was in their first group to be tested on, Group C. It all started with, well I'm sure you know but, the flare. That's when we were placed in the maze. Then, after they decided to kill us some more and placed us in the scorched area in the world, to test if we could live," a tear dripped down Cosette's face, but she continued. "Although in the end, our results weren't valuable. Only because we weren't immune." Cosette's eyes filled with sadness and she was crying. Newt walked to her chair and sat beside her, comforting her.

"I'm so sorry, Cosette. We lived that same life, believe it or not. It was horrid, but W.I.C.K.E.D never told us we were immune until the very end. And some people, they...they weren't immune." Newt stuttered on the last word.

"Were you? Or are you immune?" Her eyes looked up to him, now replaced with curiosity.

"N-no, I wasn't. But I'm not sure if I still am." Newt responded.

"What do you mean?"

"Well it's a long story I-"

"I have time." Cosette smiled. Newt smiled back and he told her all about the life in the maze, to Tommy shooting him, and to now.

"So you're saying, your friend shot you and you're immune?"

"Pretty much." Newt laughed. "I know it's very hard to believe but trust me, I can even hear and smell things most people can't hear or smell. I've gain a lot of strength and that's not even it."

Cosette giggled. "Ok, ok. I believe you. But I'm still not immune, Newt. I could turn into one of those cranks past the gone any minute now. And I can't help hurt you or your friends," Her voice lowered, "Newt, I love you."

Newt smiled, "I know the pain you're going through and I'm going to be here every step of the way because I love you too, Cosette." He hugged her closer to him and kissed her. He laid his head on her head, as she put her head on his shoulders, and they laid there hugging each other as they fell asleep.
