Sixteen|Revenge

Cosette

"W-what are you doing here?" I question looking at the person. His name is Marius.

*FLASH BACK*

He was a part of my group back in the trials. We were best friends and unlike all the others, my group was a mixture of  boys and girls, not just all boys or all girls. Anyways, once we tried to escape the maze, Marius refused to join the escape. I didn't want to leave without him, so I stayed with him. After a while, most of our people were taken by big monsters in the maze, we call em' Spideaths. Soon it was just Marius and I alone, scared, and starved. The night we were left alone, I felt back asleep and woke up to my hands and ankles tied up on a post facing the opening of the maze.

Marius left me. And he gave me to the Spideaths as a offering. But I was lucky. I have had a pocket knife in my back pocket so I slid it out to my hands and started cutting out of the ropes, having enough time to get out, pack enough items needed to escape and ran without looking behind me. I ended up in the Spideaths hole and all of a sudden I was in a science lab then someone came to rush me out. But that wasn't the end of it.

I did end up with my group by the end of the maze, and we did conquer the scorch, but W.I.C.K.E.D wasn't done with us. They had us come in one by one into a room that was completely white. They explained to us that in the room we would be told something important by an important person we loved. I cringed, thinking it would be my mother or father who I'd never even known it was but it wasn't. I twisted the knob, opening the door and it was Marius, sitting in the chair smirking with a desk in front of him along with a chair in front of the desk.

I nearly punched him so much that he would of gone into a coma, but I just needed to know what was the important information.

"Tell me now, Marius" I say gritting my teeth, my hands around his neck but not to tight.

"Cosette, I really am sorr-"

"Save it Marius, I hate you. And I always will. You betrayed me and I definitely didn't come in here for your useless apology, NOW TELL ME." I screamed tighten my hands around his throat. 

"OK, O-" he choked so I stopped and stepped back, "Cosette, you're not immune."

"Immune? What the hell are you talking about?" I shook my  head.

"Remember those goons you saw out in the scorch? They  aren't immune to the virus called the flare and if you're not immune... well, you'll be one of them in a matter of a few years." He explained with a shrug.

I stood there,quiet and tried to take in his words. I ran out the room punching out the guards my the door and took there guns. I went to the waiting room where all the other group was sitting and I brought them with me to escape this hell hole. 

It wasn't until a matter of time when the roof started caving in and I saw the metal transport doors and I knew I would be the only one who would make it there. So I went, hearing my fellow group of friends enter another door. I smiled, knowing they at least escaped from another transport door( A/N: So,from there , I have more details on it in another chapter, chapter number 5:The Company Cosettes POV)

* END OF FLASHBACK*

"What did I ever do to you, Marius. We were bestfriends, and now? Why did you try to give me to the Spideaths, I promised we'd get out together.. I just don't understand." I spit, glaring at him. He looked into my eyes and sat down, taking a deep breath.

"Ok. I can't take it anymore, I'm not going to explain to YOU when YOU already know." He said hurtfully.

"What are you talkin-" 

"Oh you know very well about what I'm talking about. Remember when you stayed back with me in the maze? Well. Cosette, you didn't stay for me, you just wanted to prove that you are such a hero and you're sooo tough and you've been that way our whole lives. I hated living in your shadow, being your servant. Watching you become such a jerk." Marius said with each word burning into my gut. he got up, walked to my body and lowered down so we were face to face. 

"So you know what? I want revenge," he smirked, "I have joined W.I.C.K.E.D and took over the foundation. And how I did that? Easy, I killed the leader." 

I gasped trying to find something to say but I couldn't, I was speechless. Marius then got up and looked over to Thomas' body.

"Alright Tom. Let's go, now. Our work here is done.. for now." He said. I look over at Thomas and he is already unstrapped from his stretcher and got up, walking away with Marius. My eyes filled with tears. Thomas was my bestfriend from all this time and it was just a game. 

This couldn't be happening, I don't believe that Thomas would do such a thing. What if Marius mind controlled him while I was unconious. I needed to stop saying what if and get out of here. I struggled first to get my hands released from the straps but as soon as I start struggling, I hear a british like voice speak behind me.

"Would you like some help?" It was Newt. I nodded and he got me out. And I wrapped my arms around his waist and hug him tight.

Anybody know why Marius is named Marius? Whalee if you've watched/read Le Miserable you'd know where I got the names Marius and Cosette lol. And that's the fun facts of the day. :) Hope ya'll enjoyed this chapter!
