The temple that had slowly started to feel like home now felt more like a prison. Confining yourself to your room you avoided as much contact with Cione and Lycoris as you could. During the night when they were asleep you would slip out of your room to bathe and stretch your legs and when day broke you would return to your room to sleep. The two were becoming increasingly concerned but whenever they would ask what was going on you would pull on your best fake smile and assure them everything was ok. Reality though set in you as hard as stones and your burning desire to escape grew stronger each day. Mulling through ideas night after night you had finally found one that seemed as though it might work.

"Cinder.. please let me resonate with you" pressing your forehead to theirs you tangled your fingers into soft fur. A low hum gave you the approval that you needed as so the plan slowly commenced. The first time you resonated with Cinder was rough, never having resonated with a shikigami before it seemed almost impossible to move your consciousness into their body. The first time you were able to successfully take over Cinder though fueled your determination to make it work. Starting slowly you would walk around the temple for a few minutes, getting used to not only Cinders large size but also the power that flowed through them.

Night after night you and Cinder would resonate. The few minutes grew to an hour and an hour grew to several. Finally after weeks of practice you felt confident in controlling Cinder and it was time to push your plan further. After taking over Cinder's body you quietly walked through the halls peering into both Lycoris' and Cione's rooms to make sure they were deep asleep before making your way to the temple door. Your anxiety was at a new high but the temptation of partial freedom overwhelmed it, pushing the door open slowly you took your first step outside since you had entered the temple.

The cool dirt was a sensation you didn't realize you had missed as much as you did, becoming lost in the bliss of the outside world you took off running into the woods. The smell of wildflowers and the trees was intoxicating as you ran faster through the forest until the lush foliage started to grow sparse. Stopping you panted rapidly trying to catch your breath and gather your composure but something felt so familiar about the spot you were in. Looking around it hit you, in disbelief you took off running towards a small cliff stopping on the edge. As you looked out your eyes filled with tears, we've been in the mountains all this time...

"You know, you're brave and stupid.." a hand came to rest on the back of your head. As you turned to look fear washed over you "I know you can't talk in that form, probably for the better since you've been nothing but a pain lately" Sukuna took a seat on the edge of the cliff, letting his legs hang over the edge. "It took you longer then I thought to finally do this. Honestly I'm impressed yet disappointed" without making eye contact he patted the ground beside him signaling for you to come beside him. You remained in place though, fearful that he would send Cinders body over the edge. "I'm not going to kill Cinder. Our deal was you couldn't leave the temple, your body is still there so you haven't broken your promise".

Still cautious you sat down behind him, as much as you tried to focus on him your eyes continued to wander back to the mountains in front of you. You had yearned for so long to be back home not knowing it was so close this entire time. "If you're going to continue this stunt I want you to do something for me to make letting you run around like this worth it. Look for a small cube covered with eyes. If you find it, I'll let you come back to these mountains in your own body. In the meantime you're still my property though, so go back to your body and welcome me home". He turned around putting his fingers to your forehead, in a split second you felt weak. As Cinders body began to fall you quickly jolted back into your own body. Trying to get your bearings you sat up only to be pinned back down to the floor "you made me wait.. naughty naughty".
