"You can't be that stupid, why would you not go with everyone else?!" Cione slammed his fist into the top of Gus' head knocking him down to his knees. "I didn't mean to, I woke up and everyone was gone" he rubbed his head while pouting slightly on the floor. You and Lycoris were in disbelief, meanwhile 'Sukuna' seemed unfazed as the three of you watched Cione continue to scold the younger man. Gus definitely fit in with what you believed the hunters would look like. He was tall, well built, and dressed in clothes that were similar to what Cione wore when you first met him. Although unlike Cione, the parts of his body you could see were completely void of any scars. His choice of weapon seemed odd as well, strapped to his back was a long handled Axe that resembled more what a lumberjack would use. "Are you two done with your reunion yet?" Yuji interrupted pulling everyone's attention to him "their was no sense in letting him die in the mountains, one less hunter means one less body looking for Gojo and one more food source keeping those vultures around". Cione let out a loud sigh as he nodded his head in agreement "it'd be a hassle to replace you, and if the coyotes in the area grew a taste for human because of you" "how can you be so cruel?" The young man whined as he pulled himself up from the floor.

"If he's staying here why don't we get him settled in a room?" Lycoris interrupted hoping to end Cione and Sukuna's teasing "theirs a free room right across from Cione, can he have that one?" She turned asking Sukuna for permission. He nodded his head slightly before pointing to the hallway entrance "to the right 4 doors down, I'm sure you'll be able to tell which room is Cione's but Minx and Lycoris will go with you. Cione I need to talk with you so come with me". Lycoris wasted no time jumping up and making her way to Gus, she had definitely become more comfortable with people after spending so much time with Cione "Gus come with us, we'll help get you settled in". Gus returned Lycoris' warm smile and picked up his bags from the ground. As he threw them over his shoulder you could hear a subtle clingy noise that sounded familiar. Shaking your head you pulled yourself together quickly and caught up with the two who had already started making their way down the hall.

You listened to the ideal chatter, as the two got to know each other better while you continued to rack through your memory trying to find where you had heard that sound before. "Minx? You ok?" "Huh?" Your face flushed as you realized Gus' face was right in front of you, he had stopped and hunched down to be level with you. His brows were cocked as he had a worried expression on his face "are you ok? You seem totally lost in thought?" "Sorry sorry, I was. I wasn't trying to be rude" turning your head you tried to hide the blush that spread across your face. "That pendent you're wearing, it's Lepidolite right?" He completely changed the topic letting you take a breath of relief as you shrugged your shoulders "I'm not entirely sure, it was a gift". "Gus you know gemology?!" Lycoris eyes practically turned to hearts as she jumped between you two giving you more relief. "Mm, kinda. My parents were jewelers, they believed that cursed energy escaped the sorcerers and took home in different gems and stones. They made their millions from collecting them and turning them into cursed tools that anyone can use"  he adjusted his bags on his shoulder making the clingy sound again, even over Lycoris praise the sound was crystal clear to you.

"Can I be nosey?"  You blurted out feeling embarrassed, you couldn't stand it though and needed to know what was causing that sound. Gus and Lycoris looked at you in confusion as you gathered yourself to finally ask "Gus, theirs a clingy sound coming from your bags when you move them. It's a sound I've heard before but I can't remember what it is". He simply chuckled making Lycoris more confused and you more embarrassed "this is the room I'm taking right? I'll show you come on" you all stepped inside his room, anticipation ran through you as you watched him dig through his bag. You could hear the clingy again as he found it and pulled it from his bag "these are cursed energy infused scales" he turned around holding a small leather pouch in his hand "I've had them since I was a kid, although I'm starting to run out. I got them from an old lady in the mountains. She said they" "they protect you from being attacked by weaker cursed spirits" you cut him off finally connecting what the sound was "the old lady that raised me used to make them from the fish we caught, the scales break when a weaker spirit comes in range and the burst of cursed energy scares them away".

Gus' jaw dropped "you know the old lady?! She was a genius and one of the last decent sorcerers alive! Tell me how is she?" He couldn't contain his excitement although when he notice you expression dropped he quickly picked up on what you were dreading to say. "When did she pass?" He clenched the bag of scales tighter as he turned back around and began to rummage through his bags again, carefully pulling out his belongings. "A few years back, she was old anyway" the pain began to eat you alive as you tried to hold back tears "she was psychotic but amazing wasn't she?" Gus' voice seemed shaky as he tried to comfort you and himself. Taking a deep breath you smiled through your tears "she really was".
