"And why do you need that?" He looks at the stuffed animal in my hand and I smile up at him before signing that it's cute. "I know that it's cute, but why do you need it?"
"Because it's cute." He stares at me. "It is a reason, and you cannot fight me on it."
"It's not a reason, but I'm not going to argue with you." I smile widely in triumph and hug the bear stuffy to my body and think about the fact that I already named it Beast. "Come on, we need to go check out." Looking back down at me and the stuffy in my hand, he shakes his head with a sigh and a small smile. "First books and now the bear stuffy, what am I going to do with you?"
"Love me, feed me, and call me cute." He lightly holds the sides of my face and places his forehead against mine before rubbing his nose against mine. "No kiss?"
"You don't like PDA, why would I make you uncomfortable?" I tilt my head to the side and smile up at him. "I know, I'm an amazing person."
"Oh you think so, do you?" He shakes his head and walks away toward the front.
"I know it, baby!" I smile and shake my head while following closely behind him to the check out. "Hey, do you want lunch?"
"Sure, I get off in thirty minuets," a sultry voice responded to Damien and I looked over to the register to see a busty blonde.
"Um, is she talking to you?" Damien looks down at me and nods slowly. "Can you make her go away?"
"Ma'am, I would much appreciate it if you would get your manager for me." The woman looks over at me and I wave and I watch as her eyes turn dark. "Now please," Damien says with a rather harsh tone and a mocking smile.
"Whatever you want, handsome." She gave Damien another sultry smile and I quickly fold myself into his side as he wraps an arm around my neck and she gives me a small glare. "Tiffany, can you come to register three please? Tiffany to register three."
A few moments pass and a short black-haired woman comes over to the register and Damien smiles coldly at her. The woman looks between us and the cashier before signing the girl off forcefully.
"Go home, Jennifer, you're done." My eyes widen a bit and I turn further into Damien to hide my smile about the situation.
"WHAT?! You can't do this!" Tiffany watches Jennifer with a blank stare before motioning Jennifer to the door. "You are a fucking bitch, you know that? I can't believe that I spent the past three years here in this fucking dump!"
"Do not speak to me that way in front of customers and yes I can, this is the fourth customer that has reported you flirting with their significant other and I am done. Get your stuff and leave." Jennifer grabbed her stuff rather angrily and flips us both off before strutting out of the building.
"You know what, fuck you and that little ass bitch too." I tilt my head and sign with a fake frown at Damien.
"I'm average height." He rubs my shoulder and mouths "I know" to me and I smile broadly.
"Look," Tiffany says to us as she signs back on the computer herself, "I'm sorry for everything that she did. She's my sister's boyfriend's niece and she needed a job, the only reason that she was still here was that she needed money for college."
"It's okay, we understand you wanting to keep family close and everything," Damien says with a small smile while holding me closer to him while watching the woman walk out the door. " Quite frankly, it's not me that needs to be apologized to and certainly not by you."
