Beads of sweats started falling down Moe's forehead as she struggled to cut an entire onion head, she felt like it was a task she couldn't finish without shedding painful tears, they were watery and uncontrollable too.

At last, she gave up. The YouTube video wasn't a help either. Her cigarette is almost burned out and they were just stuck between her fingers as she tried to finish the dinner that she promised Heather.

"If i was just not an idiot and asked her if i could take her to school then i wouldn't be in this situation."

She puffed her cigarette in her mouth, took three more before she finally threw it away. The smell of burnt food dragged her back into the kitchen with a disappointed expression, she forgot to turn the stove off.

"MOOOEEEE!"

An aggressive knock on the window caught her attention, she thought it was just a random person but turns out to be Heather.

Immediately clearing her throat before pulling the sleeves of her sweater down, she opened the door and Heather welcomed her with a hug.

"You could've knocked?"

Moe hoping she could slap her face right now, wasn't her best approach.

"I am sorry, i was too excited to see you.."

Heather smiled before handing her over a cake.

"Dessert?"

Moe took the box of cake from Heather before placing it down on the top of her coffee table.

"Dinner is burnt, guess we're having dessert.."

She scratched the back of her neck, too shy to admit she fucked up dinner so Moe went to grab forks.

"Have you eaten a cake in it's box?"

Heather asked her.

Moe immediately shook her head 'no'.

"Well we are tonight, but first i am cooking dinner."

Heather hit Moe playfully with her fork before walking in kitchen, she knew Moe couldn't cook from an experience they had as little kids. Thinking about it made Heather laugh.

"what's funny?"

Her head stuck in fridge, she took a couple of vegetables and meat from the freezer. Almost startled to see Moe leaning at the fridge with her arms crossed.

"Nothing."

Heather took the entire ingredients down the table, washed her hands before taking a knife and started cutting everything.

Her eyes glancing at Moe as the girl stared in awe, too amazed at how she cuts them delicately without even break a sweat.

Then took a pan and started stir frying the vegetables as the meat sizzle cooking in its owm marbling fat, Heather took a minute to take the cake in the kitchen, forking a bite for herself.

"Cake is good, you should try.."

Moe was quiet as ever, she watched Heather took her second bite.

"You really were such a bad cook as kid, i know...you know."

Heather teased Moe, it made the curly haired girl smile sweetly.

"Almost burned Whalen's house when he invited us over."

Moe continued.

"But you were just grilling hotdogs and burned them!"
