"You haven't spoke since we last left the coffee shop, was i too annoying?"

Bailey was walking backwards infront of me, not caring we're literally walking in the middle of the road.

"Or don't you like the coffee? Come on now!"

I glared at her, my hand gripped to my phone.

"Yeah, i get it you're still mad."

She started walking normally in front of me, her hands busy running running through her hair over and over again as the wind blew against it.

"Hey, i was being serious when i said i am sorry could you just please say a word i looked like an idiot right now."

I kept silent till we reach the school grounds, my hand started scrolling back to my phone's page revealing Heather's account.

My eyes glued to my phone as Bailey's words began to sound blurry, i could still remember the last night we are together so vividly. I was starting to worry if my decision is worth it, or i am starting another burden for myself.

"Hey Angel, i hate to break it to you but i've been asking you what time is it for like the 5th time now."

I didn't noticed we were both standing in an empty school hallway, my eyes widened realizing we both might be late already since the students already cleared.

"You're taking responsibility if we're both late."

I took her hand and we both ran, each step we take echoes to the entire hallway, my heart racing when i finally reached the front door of my next class.

Bailey didn't hesitantly twisted the door's knob entering dragging me behind her, i smiled awkwardly as pair of eyes stared at us.

"Ms. Bailey Ferreira??"

She smiled at him like it wasn't such a big deal that we're both 20 minutes late.

"Please take a seat, and you too?"

He was waiting for me to say my name, but Bailey introduced me to him and that easy we were both sat down right next to each other without even getting detention.

"Highschool sweetheart things.."

She winked at me before she flips her notebook opens, acting like she just didn't save my ass for getting a detention.

The class went on smoothly, i was able to take down notes like i used to do. I was starting to feel a little comfortable to Bailey, her as a student and not some boss bitch around.

-

"Be careful, Moe i don't like you staying some where else after work."

My uncle said as he handed me over a packed dinner, i smiled at him. A worried look is written all over his face as i shut the door behind me.

I slipped in a gray beanie before heading out, i took my brother's motorcycle and started the engine. The place where i was working wasn't too far either, so it wasn't hard for me to drive back and forth especially i am already tired from school.

"Angel, i am glad you're here i thought you'd miss the watch again."

Me and Alex switched places behind the counter, she handed me over her apron.

"Don't forget to close the bathroom lights when your shift is over."

She waved goodbye at me as she slip on her coat, it was a bit chilly outside and everyone seems to be busy around sipping coffee and forking their pastries while their eyes are glued to their laptops and books.

I sighed before taking my beanie off and started to tie my hair into a bun, i came back a few moments later with a costumer over the counter.

"Two black coffee please.."

A man with his hands inside his pockets, he looked paranoid as he whistles while i was writing down his order.

I gave him his change before i head back to press coffee into the machine, i came back noticing he wasn't around so i placed the two hot coffee down the counter as i wait, my eyes were moving too much for me to see Bailey with him

He was smiling at her, he almost caught me staring so i pulled back to see him come back in.

"Are they ready?"

He asked me, i gave him a nod. He took the two coffee but i was still observant with him and guess what, my instincts were right. He pulled a packet of a substance that i have no idea and started to pour into the other cup of coffee.

"Fuck.."

I cursed underneath my breath, i was about to run outside to meet Bailey and to take the drink away but there were already a line of costumers infront of me.

"Apollo, take this one for a minute."

Apollo dropped his mop as i threw him my apron, i ran outside as quick as i can where i saw Bailey walking with the man. She hasn't touched the coffee yet so we're good.

Then the man started to ask her to drink up, that's when i ran into them and swiped the coffee off her hand dropping it down the floor before stepping on it.

"game over, maniac."

I told him, he glared at me before Bailey stared at me with confusion.

"Angel?!"

She turned to me.

"Dad, my friend Angel."

My eyebrows furrowed, why would her father drug her?!

"The girl working inside that coffee shop who just rudely took your coffee and stepped it down the ground?"

I was lost for words, my feet frozen to where they are, knowing what i did was just some fucked up bullshit.

"I-i saw him put something in your drink so i thought-"

"So you thought i'd do that to my own daughter? Bailey prefers extra sugar on her coffee but she doesn't trust anybody else to put sugar on her drink."

I bite the inside of my cheeks, my hands on my back as i let out an awkward laugh.

"I think they're looking for me, Bailey, Sir? I am sorry!"

I sprinted away from embarrassment, i went back on the counter with my hands all over my face.

shit.

I went back behind the counter to get a towel to wipe the spill i noticed, i came back hearing the door's bell ring.

A costumer came in.

"Good evening, welcome to-"

I froze when i lifted my head, we met eye to eye and i was too stunned to speak.

Heather..
