This is the story of a girl named Mia. Her dad got a new job as an archeologist, work that takes him all over the world! Her mother passed away during child birth, leaving her dad a single parent. One of her father's jobs took him to Iceland, which allowed her to start school only a few weeks after they moved. The kids were not nice to her though, as they would take her books and as well as push her to the ground. However, there was one boy named Aaron. He walked and saw her on the ground. He helped her pick up her things and helped her up off the ground, then walked her to the nurse office.
As the day ended, Aaron found Mia and asked her if he could walk her home. She nodded sheepishly saying sure and she gave him her number so that he could text her. "Thank you for helping me out today." she said. He nodded diligently and then looked to her nervously. He asked her if she was looking for a boyfriend. She told him she wasn't ready for a boyfriend yet, he nodded in response. They arrived at her house, Aaron then he leaving to walk home. "I hope you keep me in mind." he texted her. She smiled, then replied saying "I will let you know when I am ready."After school, Aaron accompanied Mia to the hospital to see her dad. He waited outside the room while she visited him. When she walked out though, she was devastated.
"How is he doing?" Aaron asked nervously.
"He...he just passed" Mia responded quietly.
"I am so sorry Mia" Aaron said as he reached out to offer her a hug, but she backed away.
"I'm sorry, I just...I don't want you to see me like this!" She broke down crying and ran off. Aaron sat down on the nearby bench and took a deep breath, exhaling before he spoke. "I know you said you aren't ready and this may not be the best time..." Aaron looked up Mia to gauge her reaction. "Maybe we could catch a movie together sometime, and just...see how things go?" He asked timidly, looking at Mia as she pondered his words.
