Poppy's Street

Poppy walked to her apartment door and was about to head in for the night, when something weird caught her eye. A little platypus-looking animal scurrying across the street, heading towards all the jewelry stores there.

"Merlin's beard." Poppy said to herself as she drew her wand and ran down the street.

She stalked the road, looking for where the creature could've gone. Where ever  he was, the niffler was good at hiding. Poppy kept turning around in the middle of the street, thinking she missed something, but she saw nothing.

"Where'd you go?" she asked herself.

Suddenly, she saw Newt creep around the corner, looking at a trail on the sidewalk. Jacob followed him around the corner and elbowed Newt in the back. Newt looked up and started to try and back away.

Poppy looked to her left and her eyes went wide when she saw the niffler; pretending to be a jewelry stand. Poppy almost yelled for Newt, but realized that might be a heads up to the niffler. She vigorously pointed with her head to the window. It looked like she had a head twitch, but Newt must've known what she was indicating.

He ran to the window and stared. The niffler's jewelry rolled off it's little arm and fell to his feet on it's perch. He slowly turned to look at Newt. Then, he collected his precious jewels and scurried off.

Newt cast a spell to get through the window and rushed in after the niffler.

Poppy caught something else out of her eye. A little monkey running from the direction of Central Park. Poppy ran off in that direction. The niffler was in good hands.

She ran with haste, before disapparating. Then, she reappeared on the ice. A little ways in front of her young children were ice-skating. One boy fell and a little girl went over to help him up. Something under the ice startled them and the little girl fell to the ice as well. Something orange glowed under there.

Poppy, though she already had a hunch it was one of Newt's creatures, decided it would be best to get the children off the ice. She magicked her shoes so she could glide across without skates and started tapping on the kids shoulders.

"Come on, kids. I wouldn't stay on the ice if I were you."

One girl looked at Poppy "Why do ya sound like that?"

Poppy looked at the girl "Because I'm from England. Now-"

"Didn't you guys try and take control of us."

Poppy took a deep breath "I'm not answering dumb questions now. Right now, you kids NEED to get off the ice."

"Why?" an older girl asked.

It's official. Poppy lost it.

"GET OFF THE BLOODY ICE!!!!" she screamed, her Englishness actually coming very thick.

The kids might've a little scared of Poppy's anger, because they skated to the edge, tripping up to the foot path on their skates. Poppy glided to the edge and ran up to to the footpath. She ducked behind the bridge when she saw Newt appear on the other side. Waiting for him and Jacob to pass by, Poppy watched an ostrich cross the bridge, followed by a few more zoo animals that definitely shouldn't be out of their cages.

Newt and Jacob were now stop in the middle of the bridge and something big roared out. Poppy watched as Newt reached into his case and produced a helmet, offering to Jacob.

"Put this on." he said.

"Wh-why would I need to wear something like this?" Jacob asked.

Newt looked at Jacob, holding a breastplate "Because your skull is susceptible to breakage under immense force."

And Newt ran off. Jacob watched him run, a little surprised, before putting the helmet on and running after Newt. The two men were far enough away now that Poppy stood up and walked back onto the footpath. Poppy heard a voice behind.

"Poppy. What are you doing here?" Tina asked.

Poppy smiled "I saw a monkey. What are you doing here?"

"Mr. Scamander broke my trust."

Poppy looked over to the zoo "Well, they went to the zoo."
