Newt's Case
Poppy and Tina sat on the steps in front of Newt's shed. Newt and Jacob were off taking care of his creatures.
"What did Graves want?" Tina asked.
Poppy looked at her "Uh, he wanted to ask me about my past."
"But, he knows your past." Tina stated "Doesn't he?"
Poppy looked away in embarrassment "What d'you think?"
Tina placed her hand on Poppy's back and rubbed her shoulder blades, comfortingly.
"What is your past, then?" Tina asked, kindly.
Poppy looked at Tina "I have a son. He's the reason I got disowned. My father didn't like it. He disowned me. I haven't seen either of my brothers in years. They don't remember anything about me, because my father thought it best."
"Your father erased their memories?"
Poppy nodded her head "I had my son and gave him away the same day. It broke my heart, but I had no means to care for him."
"Who are you brothers?" Tina asked.
Poppy looked over at Newt, feeding his creatures while talking to Jacob. Tina looked between the two of them.
"You're his-" she started.
Poppy smiled and nodded her head "He was fourteen years old when father disowned me. I didn't even get to say goodbye."
Newt looked over at Poppy and Tina on the stairs and came over to them.
"Are you two alright over here?" he asked.
Tina smiled and nodded "Yeah, we're fine, Newt."
Newt? When'd she start calling him that? Poppy thought for a moment. Then another thought popped into her head Does Tina like Newt?
Poppy would care either way, but if she found out about it any way other then Tina telling her, she will not be happy. Newt stared at Tina, then to Poppy.
"You sure? Poppy seems very upset." he stated again.
"We're sure, Newton." Poppy snapped. She hid her face to hide her face.
Newt was staring at her "How did you-"
But they were interrupted by Queenie calling into the case "You can all come up now!"
The four of them clambered out of the case onto a rooftop. Jacob walked over to the shed in the middle of the roof and ran his hand along the wood. Queenie walked over to him.
"Your grandfather kept pigeons?" she asked, making Jacob nod "Mine bred owls. I used to love feeding them. Thank you for telling me about this place."
Newt and Tina walked over to the edge of the roof and had their own conversation, leaving Poppy alone with her thoughts. She watched Queenie and Jacob, laughing together in the shed. Newt and Tina were talking quietly while watching the New York horizon.
