Sasha climbed into my car. A giant smile plastered to her face."Hey kid, did you have a nice day?" I asked, and started the car.
"It was good." She breathed. "And then it got better."
I raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Sasha looked at me. "N-nothing Tyler. It doesn't matter."
Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes clouded over in a daydream.....that could only mean one thing.
"You have a crush!" I yelped. "You like a boy!"
A small fist hit my arm. "Stop! I do not!"
"What's his name?" I pressed. If my baby sister had a crush, I wanted to know everything about him. So in the end, if needed, I could beat the living shit out of him.
Sasha glared daggers at me. "I told you it's no one."
I pulled into our driveway. "Fine fine."
She threw open the door and quickly ran away.
I pulled the key out of the ignition. My mind reeled. Things seemed to be happening to me left and right, and I wasn't sure it was for the better.I climbed out of my car, and shut the door.
The soft scent of fall washed over me.
The leaves on the trees turned from gray to black, and gently floated on the breeze.
It was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
But....if it had color....I assume it would be stunning.I looked around a bit, until my eyes rested on the house next to mine.
It had been empty for 4 years.
After the people that had lived there last left, no one had filled their spot.
But today was different. The for sale sign was gone, and there was a car parked in the driveway.A girl about 16 followed her parents into the house. Each of them was carrying a box.
They seemed to be struggling.I walked over to them, and took the box from the girl. "Here. Let me help."
She gave me a grateful smile. "Thank you."
I followed her into the house, and set the box down.
The floor boards creaked uneasily under my feet.I straightened back up and smiled at her. "By the way, I'm Tyler. I live next door."
The girl moved a bit of hair behind her ear.
She was beautiful. Her figure was perfect, her eyes warm....I felt my toes curl just by looking at her."I'm April." She said softly. I could tell she was deciding whether she could trust me or not.
"That's a cool name." I said awkwardly. "Well....I should get home....maybe we can get to know each other sometime."
Her cheeks flushed. "Umm...yeah....sure."
Good going Tyler she hates you already.
I greeted her parents before I left.
Oddly enough, I felt her eyes on my back as I walked down the steps, and back to my yard.
