"Mr. Morgen!" The teacher said stiffly, and slapped her ruler on my desk.
I looked up carefully. Oh no I'm going to get it now. "Y-yes?"
"I did not see you after school yesterday, like you promised." Mrs.Peterson put her bony hands on her hips.
"For the record, he didn't promise anything." Steven spoke up. His hair was a mess, and his shirt was buttoned unevenly.
He looked like he was up half the night.
Knowing him....he probably was.
"My client Mr. Morgen was asked to join you after school. You never specified when that would happen."Steven, please. You're making this worse. I put my head on my desk, trying to block it out.
"Mr. Morgen, do you enjoy failing?"
I felt all eyes on my back. "N-no m'am."
"Then I suggest you get some help."
I shook my head. "I'll start studying now, thanks...."
Mrs. Peterson glared at me a few more seconds before she decided to go back to the lesson.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
For a lady in her sixties, she was pretty scary. As the period crept on, I noticed that I was losing my focus, yet again.
It's just so hard to pay attention when you don't care about the subject.Do you ever get that feeling when you know you've stopped paying attention, but you can't seem to regain your focus? Because that's what was happening.
I pushed my black hair out of my eyes and yawned.
How could this day get any more boring?"Attention students, we are issuing a assembly. Please, in an orderly fashion make your way down to the all purpose room. Any student found roaming the halls will receive a detention. Thank you."
Oh would you look at that? I spoke wayyy too soon. This day can get worse.
I picked up my books, and started towards the door.
Steven grabbed my shoulder. "Hey man."
"Dude...you look terrible."
"That's what she said." He grinned.
I rolled my eyes so hard I thought they might get stuck. "That's not a compliment."
Steven looked at me with a blank stare, almost like he was reevaluating his life choices.
The assembly, like I predicted, was as boring as anything.
It was about being safe on the internet, and what to do and what not to do.I already knew all this.
Running a tumblr that gets a million notes a day? Ha...... That's safe.....it's not like any of them are murders....
Anyway....while the assembly was going on, I couldn't help but find myself distracted.
What else is new, am I right? My eyes eventually rested on someone I recognized.
Someone who I thought, maybe I liked...a little. I wasn't sure.April.
She sat alone. A group of people a foot away from her.
I frowned. Maybe I should move to sit with her?
I didn't know anything about her. What good would that do?She probably hates me. She made it kind of clear when I helped her carry the boxes in.
No matter.
I would try and make her my friend...because that's what good people do.
