Grace followed the blood trail, until it stopped. She had gone very deep into the woods, she couldn't even see the house. Looking back at the ground to try and find a spot of blood. She couldn't, Well where could he have gone?! Grace stomped her feet acting like a 2 year old. She turned around and started to head back following the blood trails.
Grace got up to the house's front door and opened it. Her parents where not in sight. She looked around the house for them. In the kitchen? No... Their room, was a no.
Soon she had checked everywhere. Everywhere but the attic, Grace crept towards the door. She put her ear to the rotting door.
"Let's go back down stairs!" Someone like her fathers voice had said. But it wasn't it was deeper than normal. "I know she just came back!" The voice said again.
"No! We have to hide it!" The voice sounded like her mothers, but it wasn't again.
She took her ear off the door when she heard footsteps down the stairs and ran to her room. She jumped in bed and grabbed her book, hearing the footsteps that followed into her room. It was her dad, he walked into the room sat on her legs. "OUCH! DAD!" Her dad quickly stood up and Grace moved her legs away. "Sorry sweaty pie..." And sat back down. Her Father looked at her. "Look, Gracie you shouldn't run off like that. It makes me really scared. Almost like you wanted to run away with Simon. And I don't want to lose two kids." Grace sighed and twirled her legs off the bed and stood up. "But Simon didn't run away, he's dead." His eyes opened very wide. "I found his shirt it had a giant claw mark all the way across it." Her fathers mouth opened. His face was shook. "S-so you mean to say that my boy, Simon. Died?" Grace's lips where pulled together. "Yes." Her dad started sobbing, Grace had never seen her father cry before.
She sat down on the bed right next to her dad. "Its ok Dad, you still got me." Grace smiled at him. He started to make a very sad smile at her. "See its going to be ok."
That's when her mother walked into her room, "Oh, dear..." She said. Grace's mom bent down in front of her father. She patted his leg. "Honey, how about I make you favorite pork stew, The family recipe."
Ew, Grace hated the pork stew it tasted like raw meat, but the family recipe was worse. The look on her moms face when ever she would make it. An evil smile, like she had just murdered someone. The last time she made it Grace threw up, and got really sick. So they haven't had it in 2 years or so.
Grace poked at her stew with a fork it looked jiggley, like jello. Thats when she saw something white that wasn't supposed to be there. She took her spoon at got it out. It was a finger nail. She screamed. "There was a fingernail in my stew!!" she yelled.
Her mother turned over to her "Maybe it was mine sorry dear for frighting you." Grace continued to poke at the jiggly stew. "Yeah, Yeah its fine..." She looked over at her dad. Slurping up the stew so fast. Grace laughed, "Hey dad do you want mine i'm not really hungry." He looked over at her the stew all over his face. "Hahahahahaha!!! Yes! Give your stew to the Stew king!!!" Grace and her mom laughed. She handed over the stew to her dad. He started gulping it down again.
