"How's it going, mighty hunter?"

Paper raised her head, and glared at Lulu for a moment. The self-proclaimed leopard was waving one paw in the air, trying to get her attention as soon as she entered the room.

"Don't call me that," she sighed. She couldn't deny that she still had ancient predatory instincts, ready to kick in at a moment's notice. But she'd spent half her life trying not to be noticed, trying to hide her own strength, and she didn't like to be reminded of it. Sometimes she thought it was strange for a tiger who really wanted to be just another cat to end up in a relationship with a common cat who tried everything to convince the world she was an apex predator. But today she wasn't really in the mood.

"Did you just tell me what to do?" Lulu raised an eyebrow, and Paper heard the faint squeak of gold nail polish against skin as her claws slid out. Paper's own claws were cut as short as could be comfortable, and she preferred to file them down rather than sharpen them.

"I'm sorry, Mistress. It's just... you know how I feel about that."

"Yeah. And you know why I do it. Right? One of these days I'll be able to hypnotise you without an expert holding my hand, and you won't be able to resist a single word I say."

That was enough to make Paper smile. The thought of being helpless, and controlled, would never be any less appealing. Terrifying, yes. But still what she really wanted. And apparently, tapping into a subject's more primal urges, the part of the psyche that was different for every species, was one of the most effective ways to do that.

"I look forward to it. And you have my permission to make me do or feel whatever you want. Just... they will be here any minute. And until it works, those particular words aren't too comfortable for me."

Lulu nodded, and came closer to hug her girlfriend. Right now, she couldn't believe how lucky she was. They'd been fooling around in private for a couple of years, because Paper Tiger had been embarrassed to admit she was bi. Then privacy became secrecy, as she refused to admit there was anything between them, but still felt obligated to keep it secret. There had been a little thrill to that for Lulu, because she'd also been sleeping with Paper's boyfriend without her lover knowing. There was a kind of irony, that both of them were happy to keep the same secret from each other, in the name of sparing each other's feelings. Then the truth had come out, thanks to a master hypnotist who hated the idea of his slaves lying to their other partners, and against all odds it had come together perfectly. Lulu could tease and torment both of them, and they didn't keep on bringing up their guilt anymore.

"The truth is a wonderful thing," Lulu smiled, leaving Paper to stare in confusion for just a moment before they heard a muted 'ding' from the front doorbell. There was no matching 'dong', the bell had been half broken for a year now, but they both stood up instantly. Lulu briefly thought about leaving something on her chair to make sure nobody else claimed it a moment later, but then laughed to herself. It went without question that she would have whatever seat she wanted; when she was spending quality time with the people she cared about, they would all do whatever she said. Or at least, disobey in a way that was bound to lead to some fun.
