Falling Down

"Are you sure? I mean it's only been two weeks since the uh...incident." I said holding my shoulder. JJ was with me at LongHorn steakhouse while on her lunch break. We've been meeting here every once in a while since I've been recovering. I hate to admit it but I've been nervous to even leave for lunch. The doctors tell me I'm healing well and my physical therapy's almost up, but yet I still find myself hesitant to truly get out into the world.

"it'll be fun! This fair only comes once a year and you need to stretch your legs. Trust me nothing bad will happen." JJ said with a smile. "And you can bring Hotch." She added with a devious smirk. I rolled my eyes. Ever since I told the girls about my escape from the hospital they've been teasing me nonstop. But I can't be too mad, I'd do the same to them.

"If I'm bringing Hotch then you bring Emily." I stated. "Oooh a double date! I'm down." JJ grinned. Her leather watch suddenly beeped and she glanced down at it. "Oh shoot! I'm gonna be late! See you y/ln! I'll text you later!"

A few days later I was trying to find a cute outfit. My head was racing ever since JJ proposed the "double date." I haven't even gone on an official date with Hotch yet! "Ugh when did I become so indecisive." I grumbled. After what felt like hours I finally settled on a cute fall sweater and some ripped jeans. I tied my hair up and grabbed my keys. Just before I left I grabbed some candy and shoved it in my purse. As I sat down in my car I tried to calm myself. Hotch and me where official but it felt so new. My skin tingled with a sensation of excitement and pure nervousness.

I pulled into his driveway and walked up to his looming white door. I knocked on his door three times before a young boy swung it open. "Mrs Y/ln!! Dad she's here!!!!!!" The blond yelled. I couldn't help but giggle. I stepped inside the house. "Hiya Jack!" I smiled down at the seven year old. He had the same rich brown eyes that Hotch did.

"I'll be right down!!!!!" A familiar deep voice yelled down from the stairs. I smirked at the thought of him scrambling to get ready. It'll probably be a few minutes before he'll be down here. "Quick before your dad sees, here!" I said and grabbed the few lollipops in my purse that I snagged from my kitchen counter. Jacks eyes lit up and he took the red piece of candy into his hands. Hotch finally made his way down the stairs and Jack ran off with the candy. "Did you...?" He asked pointing to where Jack used to be standing. I shrugged innocently "Me? Never!" He chuckled and kissed me on the cheek. "Well it's the baby sitters problem now." Hotch made sure Jack was settled and we were about to head out. "Oh wait!!! Mrs Y/ln win me one of those giant stuffed animals!!" He exclaimed. I laughed and we left.

After a few minutes of riding in the car and a heated debate on which vitamin water was the best flavor we finally arrived at the fair. There where orange fall decorations everywhere and dozens of small booths. The air was crisp with a cool breeze. We jumped out of the car and headed over to Emily and JJ.

"You made it!" Emily smiled with her hand wrapped around JJ's.
Hotch grinned "Wouldn't miss it."

I tugged his brown jacket to get his attention to a large white tent. "Babe look! There's bobbing for apples! I bet you can't get one." I smirked. His eyes narrowed and he raised his eye brow. "Oh really? Your on." He ran off and I chased him. I could hear Emily chuckle behind us as they tagged along.

For the rest of the day we ran around to each booth taking pictures and laughing amongst one another. I ended up beating Hotch in bobbing for apples but Emily reined supreme. Who knew she had a talent for attacking apples? I somehow convinced Hotch to get matching henna with me along our hands. My design was a crescent moon with stars and swirls dotted around my wrist. He ended up getting a shining sun that had rays emitting off his fingertips. JJ and I also decided to try and beat one another in the basketball carnival game. With each swish of the net I got closer and closer to winning a lovely stuffed dinosaur for Jack. I somehow ended up winning by only two points.

"Jacks gonna love this." I said with a giggle as I held up the giant white dinosaur. It was softer than anything I've ever touched.
"I've never seen a white dinosaur before." Hotch teased.
"Maybe it's albino." Emily shrugged

We all laughed until suddenly it we were interrupted by a strange man. He aggressively bumped into me and Hotch. All three of us stumbled and our things flew out of our hands. Before anyone could even say anything the man swiftly picked up Hotchs wallet and my purse and handed it over. His eyes where a piercing green and he refused to look at anywhere but the ground. Without saying a word he put his hands in his pockets and stomped off.

"Hey! Whats your problem!" Hotch yelled. I bent down to pick up the dinosaur from the ground when I saw something sitting besides it. I swept it up with my hand and to my surprise it was Hotchs BAU ID! "Hotch your ID fell out." I said and handed it over to him. "That's strange... it's usually in the back of my wallet, it shouldn't have fallen out." He shoved it back in the pocket and handed me my purse.

After that small incident the rest of the day was a breeze. I haven't had that much fun in forever, especially since I was with Hotch. I don't know why but somehow he makes everything so much more enjoyable. Since the past two weeks I was able to forget about the incident. I was finally able to relax and be happy with Hotch.

Once we left the festival we parted ways with Emily and JJ who decided to go out to dinner together. Hotch had to get back to Jack and I had to tell Garcia about everything.

When pulled into Hotchs drive way and into his house. Jack came bounding down the hallway with a big smile on his face, thrilled to see his dad. "Did you guys get me anything!" I pulled out the dinosaur from my bag and handed it to him. He grinned from ear to ear. "Thanks Mrs y/ln!!!! Your the best!!!" I watched the little boy run off and caught Hotch looking at me fondly.

"What?" I asked confused. He shook his head softly. "I just love seeing you be happy. After being in the hospital and locked up in your apartment I'm just happy to see you enjoy yourself again." I felt myself turn red at his sweet statement. I could feel my heart melt as I walked closer to him and held his hands. He looked down at me and smiled. Slowly we fell into a kiss and he held me tight. "Y/n...I've never felt this way about anyone before..." he whispered into my ear. I was about to open my mouth to say what's been eating me up inside. "Hotch I-"

"Ewwwwwww" a small voice spoke out infront of us. Oh my god. There was Jack, who unfortunately just watched us kiss and interrupted my moment to tell Hotch I love him. "Jack!!!! Get out of here!!" Hotch yelled. He was red with embarrassment. I couldn't help but giggle. Jack ran off to his room and once again left us alone to one another.

"I am so sorry I had no idea he was-" Hotch began to apologize but I stopped him.

"Hotch, I love you." I whispered with a shy smile. His eyes widened and a grin broke out onto his face.

"I love you too." And with that he held me tighter and we kissed once again. I want to relive this day forever. If there was a way to pause time then this would be that moment. I could feel myself fall for him all over again as we locked arms.

A/N: this will probably be the last cutesy filler chapter for a while. Sorry it was kinda long bc I never know when to stop, but enjoy! I wanted it to have a vv fall-ish vibe. This also means a Halloween chapter will be coming up 😌 so get excited for thattttttt
