Thomas jolts awake in a cold sweat, still scared from the nightmare he'd had. He had been a runner for a little while and now slept next to his slightly older partner, Minho. Who he just so happened to have a crush on.

Being a runner, you see a lot of things that scar you. Other boys going through the Changing and never coming back the same, Grievers, all sorts of freaky klunk. Thomas had just had a nightmare that he was running with Minho. In the dream, Minho looked over at Thomas and smirked. Suddenly, the smirking boy changed into a Griever, chasing Thomas to his death or possibly worse, the Changing.

Thomas panted and sat up. He knew it was ridiculous, considering it was only an unrealistic dream, but he had to make sure his partner was okay. It was beginning to just become an instinct, as it already was for Minho, a more experienced runner.

"Minho?" Thomas whispered.

Minho sat up and rubbed his eyes, looking over at Thomas. Concern clouded his brown eyes in the pale darkness of the morning. They had the day off so it didn't matter how late they slept, but it looked to be about 2 or 3 AM.

"What's up, slinthead?" Minho said, his casual-sounding words were carefully layered with a sense of worry for his partner.

"I... I just needed to hear your voice. Sorry, I guess I woke you up. I had a... a nightmare," Thomas shakily explains. Minho understands of course.

"Come here," Minho invites warmly.

"Huh?" Thomas asks, stunned at the older boy's show of caring.

"You heard me, get your butt over here," Minho says, his voice dripping with a mellow playfulness and scooches over, making room for Thomas to squeeze in.

Forgetting all about his dream, Thomas quietly climbs off his hammock and tries to contain his excitement. Minho pats the empty spot and Thomas gently lays down on his side next to him. Minho adjusts the blanket to cover the both of them, one of his arms is under Thomas's head, creating a nice pillow for him. His other bear arm is wrapped around Thomas' waist, pulling his body close to his own, spooning him. At this point, Thomas's brain is losing its shit, his heart is beating fast with excitement and his cheeks are a rosy red.

"What was your dream about?" Minho whispers softly, his breath tickling Thomas' neck, creating goosebumps.

"We were running... and... and then you... you turned into a-a Griever. And y-you chased me and it... it was weird. And vivid, very vivid," Thomas recalls.

"You know I'm on your side, right? And I always will be, you know. I would never abandon you," Minho says, sensing the meaning of Thomas' dream. Thomas sleepily nods yes.

"It helps to hear it... I don't know why I dreamed something like that..." Thomas murmurs.

It's because you know he'd be disgusted with you if he knew how you really felt about his strong arms, deep eyes, and rugged good looks the insecure part of Thomas's brain chimes.

Unable to take the taunting of his brain, he decides to go out on a limb and rebel against it. Thomas rolls over to face Minho. Calmly, he brushes his lips against Minho's, giving him a goodnight kiss. Minho grins at him and kisses his forehead, pulling him somehow even closer than he was before, their legs tangled together.

"'Night hot stuff," Thomas attempts, using a nickname he had jokingly called Minho. Only this time... something was different. Good different. It felt more serious. Good serious.

"'Night cute ass," Minho boldly says, causing Thomas to turn beet red but smile shyly.

A/N: Now I know I said oneshots... but does anyone want a part 2 that takes place when they wake up or something?
