Recap:
"Let me show you"
_______________________________________________________________________________
(A/N) This is 45 minutes before older Rachel is walking down the aisle, and this entire chapter will be from her POV. So enjoy!
"45 minutes until show time!" the wedding planner says in his super preppy voice that can wake anyone out of a deep sleep. I used to think he must drink coffee 24/7 for him to be so energetic all the time, but in the 6 months I have been planning this wedding with him I have never seen him drink a drop. He only drinks slimming tea and protein shakes, weird I know.
I never wanted to get married. I've always loved the control on men that I've had since puberty really started to kick in when I was 16. But this wedding isn't about me. I have to do this. I have to save him.
" Grace, can I have a moment alone?" I say to my best friend and my maid of honor.
"Of course, sweetie. Take all the time you need." she responds looking me dead in the eye trying to read my face, but I don't let her. After knowing someone for so long you know how to hide things from that person. The whole purpose of this wedding was one of them. "Alright, everyone out!"
One of the reasons I wanted her as my maid of honor, besides being my best friend since our awkward middle school years, was because when she wanted something to happen people always rushed to get it done. Even if it was to scram, like right now, they did it as fast as humanly possible.
"We'll just be down the hall, sweetie. No running away now, ok?" she says still trying to figure out what's going on in my head.
"Don't worry. No chance of that happening." I respond trying to smile even brighter to her so she would just think I'm super nervous.
After everyone was out, I went over to the mirror so see what everyone else would see.
"All dressed in white like the dove everyone thinks I am." I say to myself.
"But we know better don't we." I hear a man's voice say from behind me.
I jump 5 feet in the air before I turn around. I know that voice. It was the voice of the man for the reason for this entire wedding.
"What do you want, Noah?" I say trying to keep my emotions out of my voice. Even though I know that was totally pointless. He has always been able to read my face, whether I liked it or not.
"You. But we already know that too, don't we?" Noah responds still analyzing me.
"We can't do this anymore. I'm about to get married in less than a hour."
"Ah, a mistake that I have come to save you from, my dear."
"This is no mistake. I love him, and he loves me. You never loved me. You just wanted me for my body, and so that no other man could have me."
"Well, hard to argue with that logic about me, but you are forgetting something. You don't love him."
"What do you know about love or what I feel?"
"I know everything about how you hide your emotions from everyone. You've been doing it for so long that nobody knows any better. Not even your best friend, how sad. Well, that is to say everyone except me."
