January 3rd, 2009
It's the first day back from Winter Break. I can't wait to see Lake! His family went to Florida to visit his grandparents down there for the holiday season.
When I turn into my locker pod, I finally look up and see Lake. He's got a little tan from Florida, but his cheeks are bright red from the bitter contracts. He has a sheepish apoligetic expression on his face as he keeps looking all around. In his hands are white roses and a slice of what looks to be my favorite marble cake.
"Hey!" he says with a smile finally looking my way.
"Hey yourself. What's with the flowers and cake?"
"Well since I wasn't here during winter break, and I didn't get you anything from Florida. I thought I would try to make it up to you."
"With my favorite flowers and cake? You know me too well. Even though you really didn't have to."
"Well I wanted to plus I thought we could go see that new movie with Anne Hathaway you wanted to see..."
"Bride Wars, Really?"
"Yea. Think of all this as my christmas present to you."
"Speaking of which: I got these for you"
"How is the world did you afford these? They were sold out when I tried."
"I had to do something while you were tanning in Florida. Listening to the radio with christmas music was not as entertaining as you, but it was close."
"Awww...come here you!" he says as he puts the flowers and cake on the top shelf in my locker. Then he swoops down and picks me up around my waist and twirls me off the ground, smiling his bright smile.
Sorry for such a small chapter this week...didn't want to keep people waiting...already started working on the next long chapter :D
