Obsessed

The quiet click of a pen followed by the sound of a chair pushing away from it's place.

Chance, or 'Chessie' as they've recently become attached to, smiled to himself as he stepped away from their desk.

"It's interesting. You've been at this for years. Yet no one's even gotten close to you.."

Just an hour ago he was watching the news with his parents, when a headline caught his eye.

Apparently this city had a rabid killer problem.
His parents regretted their choice to move back here but it was far too late to turn back now.

'The White Rabbit' was the tile the media gave him. It was rather funny. How the media would give such catchy names to it's criminals.

Given the name was fitting, if what Chessie read was to be believed.

The White Rabbit had a system to his crimes.
He'd leave notes and clues for his victims to find, pulling them farther from safety and deeper into his 'Rabbit hole'
It was almost poetic. How the media decided to dub him as a sort of Alice In Wonderland figure.
Ironic, that they chose the supposidly good Rabbit character for him.

But still fitting.

The only well known sightings of him come from people who just barely escaped, or broken phones found at the scenes that happened to be recording.

He was fairly tall. Lanky. Had a white bunny mask and many of the other details are rather blurry.

Most people only get a glimpse at his Rabbit mask before he's ether gone or they're dead.

It was impressive. Crafty.

He was a sly Rabbit for sure.

After the news story Chessie's  parents made it a solid rule.
No going outside past 6.
It wasn't a particularly new rule. Only 2 hours earlier then their normal curfew.

Chessie didn't care much for the change however, they were far more interested in getting back to their room and looking up as many files and cases as they could freely obtain.

They copied down all the facts and notes they could, but it still felt like there had to be more.

A killer so allusive couldn't end at just a few pages.

Never the less, he yawned and stretched his arms before throwing off his shirt and getting into bed.

Jackilyn Anderson.

Daughter of the top detective and rather intuitive student.
She spends alot of time in the library.
Always with some boy, Jorden Skull, but he wasn't important.

Chessie caught wind of her while he was looking through files on the deep web. Her father was rather popular, normally pretty good at his job.

Yet even he had little info on the Rabbit.
Apparently, despite the murderers ever increasing kill count, Mr.Anderson had a bigger fish to fry.
Chessie wrote down the fish's name.
Tony Drey.

But it wasn't important.

What was important was Jackilyn. They went to the same school now, and he would see her in the halls.
It only took about a week of listening into her and her friend's conversations at lunch before he got the confirmation he needed.

She was looking into Rabbit aswell.

Which ment, if Mr.Anderson- the great detective- didn't have any real news on the case..perhaps his upstart of a daughter might.
