Arizona, Scottsdale
Summer Pov:
A couple days later, she flew to Scottsdale after that she'd rented a red Forte Lx and of course payed money for it. She sped down the street, glancing over at the address of the safe house Lex had given her earlier. She slipped on her dark sunglasses as she turned the street heading to the Safe house. She cranked some tunes on the radio to listen to. Looking out the window, she observed people strolling down the sidewalk enjoying the warmth of the sunshine on them.
As she drove through Old Town, she passed by the shopping mall, and turned down the street, passing by shops, galleries, ice cream parlors and restaurants. She pulled in behind a building and parked, climbing out, she grabbed her Hardigg storm case and closed the door behind her. She strode over to the entrance of the building and knocked on the door. A few minutes later, a lady strolled over to the door, grabbing the door handle as she opened it and says " You must be Summer?"
Summer nodded. "Lex told me you need some help to protect the analyst"
Jennifer motioned for her to come in as she closed the door behind them. They strode over into a spacious living room where the analyst was sitting on a sofa. Summer placed her case on the ground. As she observed the analyst she tell that he looked very nervous and afraid.
"You can trust her. She's from the Alpha group," Jennifer stated.
Summer sat across from him. As she slipped off her dark sunglasses, placed them on the table, and crossed her legs. She was certain whatever the analyst had to be vital that he was afraid for his life. She had been in tight and dicey spots before, and knew how to survive. This was no different from protecting an asset with intel. Yes, she done it several times before when she had been an assassin for the CIA and now for the Alpha Group.
The analyst glanced over at the Hardigg case on the floor and then to Summer; he guessed if Jennifer trusted Summer, he could trust her. He tensed at the thought about what he was going to do. Ever since, he'd supplied the intel for the Shadows on the gold in Iraq Hussein Place. He knew the day would come when he would be afraid for his life. He fidgeted as his twisted wedding ring on his finger about his family. He decided it was best to Summer what he told Jennifer earlier
"Listen, Summer told him, I'm your over watch. I can hit a target from an extreme distance, so you have nothing to worry about. As good as Russtech, Ammunition and the Resistance are I'm even better than them."
"You think you can stop their best assassins from coming after me," The analyst scowled.
Summer reached into her pocket, pulled out a .338 Lapua casing and tossed it over to the analyst. He froze for a second as he glanced at the casing in his hand. Whoever this Summer she was no amateur, that was sure, he thought to himself. He knew that the Resistance wouldn't stop until they found and him eliminated him with what he knew about them. Placing the casing into his pocket, he flashed onto a memory: Him meeting with Martin Ray at a classified military base in Iraq.
"I have never missed my targets that I have killed," Summer told him.
The analyst bit his lip. " Five years ago I was approached by a shady looking man who said that gold in Saddam Husein palace belonged to the US and they needed it for operations in Iran. He assured that the mission in Iraq was authorized by President Roberts. After I found out that the gold never belonged to the US and that I wanted, he threatened to send one of his assassins to kill my family if I didn't do what he wanted-- which was keep supplying them with intel."
Summer considered what the analyst told her, plus she knew who the assassin was that Martin Ray dispatched. Azalea Elizabeth Grey, an ex Shadows operator and assassin. It figured that he would send Grey to threaten the family of the analyst, after all, he needed the best to do it. What she couldn't figure out was what operation in Iran. Maybe she was missing something here.
Finally The analyst stopped fidgeting rose from where he sat before he. "I thought I was doing it for my country, it wasn't until that I found a certain arms dealer/hacker met with the handler from the shadows. I threatened to go to the President with what I knew about the gold from Iraq, but my all intel was discredited."
Summer knew who the arms dealer/hacker was Triple-A7, now it was all coming together for her piece by piece. Still, there had to be more to it she knew. Strolling over to the sniper rifle case, she flipped open the latch and snatched the rifle as she started to clean it, making sure the muzzle was clean and ready to use. She slotted in a ten-round box mag. She walked over to the door of the safe house, and grabbed the door handle with her free hand as she strode and spotted an emergency staircase behind the safe house. Bolting up the staircase she found her sniper perch and pulled out the tripod on the sniper rifle.
She adjusted the elevation turret on her sniper rifle, peering through the scope she fingered as a round sped the muzzle smashing one of the garbage cans. Perfect summer thought to herself. Now she had to do was and wait and be ready.
Clicking her earpiece she says. " Jennifer, I'm in position and ready."
"Great, There's no chance Russtech Ammunition or The Resistance getting anywhere near our asset now with you as overwatch," Jennifer replied.
The analyst paced and forth, still this time trying to make sense of the casing Summer had tossed him. Was there a meaning to it, he didn't know? Yes, he had heard about the Alpha group before, but he didn't know how good this Summer was with her sniper rifle was?. He was sure of one thing: but if he was right, he knew that the arms dealer/hacker had being working for someone high up in Russtech Ammunition or even of their clients.
"Relax Summer is one of the best assassins and snipers, You're well protected I won't anyone to you," Jennifer told him.
Summer's breathing slowed her finger rested on the trigger as the view of the front of the safe house came into focus. There was no doubt in her mind this was going to be a full blood bath to the end and she wasn't going to let them anywhere near here.
